Can anybody identify the problem with our program???

We are identifying a lot of the symptoms but have we really identified why we are in a slump????

1) Lack of quality players or failure of players to execute?

2) Lack of enthusiasm on the part of Players and Staff?

3) Lack of communication, leadership, discipline from coaches to players.

4) Coaches Leadership styles not working on today's kids.

5) Total Feeling of Gloom and Doom. You are what you think you are.

6) No Total team effort.

7) Too much outside influences on the program resulting in job insecurity internal struggles and chaos.

8) Lack of institutional control over the player, coaches,or program.

Not sure that these are not symptoms versus the real problem. They contribute to the problem but what is the real problem

I truly felt after the 98 NC would would put together a 10 year dynasty the reverse happened. We reached the pinnacle and abruptly fell. We have be on a slippery slope the last 4 years

Its always one or the other every year either we have a good offense and a bad defense or a good defense and a bad offense. I wish just 1 year we could be good on both sides of the ball.

The current state of Tennessee Football is a lot like the Jimmy Carter presidency, filled with malaise and stagnation. Regardless of the specific issues, one person is ultimately responsible and that is Fulmer.

Phillip Fulmer and his staff=Problem

People who take up for Phillip Fulmer and his staff=Problem

did I say Phillip Fulmer and his staff=Problem

If we don't do something in a hurry, we may never have the chance to be the way we were in the 90's. If you don't like what I'm saying, go root for Bama.

Well the only problem i have with what you said is that i dont want our VOLS to be like they were in the 90's i want them to etch their own way. The 90's were great but they are gone and we need to move on from that.

Fulmer is the problem along with Chavis and they should be shown the door.

I dont think losing CPF will help us......I think if we get a new DC and staff and at least address the relationship between CPF and Cut.....I can't fathom how CPF did not know why Montario Hardesty was NOT in the game. That tells me he has nothing to do with personel.....and he is the head coach?? Maybe he can be asst AD or something if we find a good candidate......

I don't know what will fix our program and nobody here does either......we can be arm chair QB's and think we know it all.....but we don't know what's going on in the lockerroom, meetings and etc......the only info we get is from the scoreboard and 3 hours every Saturday!!

It's real easy to say these things after a big loss, shove em all out the door and then what? It gets real hard after that and no one knows how it would turn out. I think this thing should be fixed in the off season how ever it turns out. People who want that kind of ugly doing plays into the other teams hands that we play and first of all how will the team take it will key players decide to transfer? How will recruts take a change? I hear a lot of voices calling for a change and clean up a mess but not a one willing to take the blame if we find ourselves in a much bigger mess.

9) A very young team.

a very young team means lack of proper recruitment in the previous years vs. this year... it might either be they did not recruit the team based on need or the young team just outperforms the seniors... but eitherway age / inexperience is not the reason for the losses..

JMO, but accountability is completely void in this program. The coach has been unaccountable for years. Overstreet's comments regarding no need to listen to those external to the program tells me that nobody internal to the program expects to have to answer for getting drilled. It all starts at the top.

A young secondary attached to Hefney is a key reason for all 3 losses. UT is weak against the pass, Bama saw the weakness and switched to pass mode. UF, 600+ yards offense, Bama 500+ yards offense. As you say though, the fact UT is in that position is not the young players, who are making mistakes, fault though.

I know our secondry got burned real bad, but if there was some pressure upfront, it wouldnt have been that bad... An O line that allowed 8 sacks in the last 2 games allowed none or 1? sack this game... where is our front 4 / 7 making some plays...

Hard to believe that they were 2nd stringers at least 2 possiblity 3 on the OL
