My ideal Final would be:

Heat vs. Thunder

Great Talent Showcase, Exciting 1v1 match-ups.

The worst case scenario would be:

Lakers vs Bulls

Same tired storyline. Kobe needs to be done. Joakim Noah should never win another game.

Ideal: Grizz vs. Knicks
The NY market would keep the ratings up and growing up in NY I like to see them do well

Worst Case: Spurs vs. Pacers
No one would watch this series.

Best case for the league:
OKC vs. Miami

Best case for me:
Dallas vs. Indiana

Worst case for the league:
Memphis vs. Indiana

Worst case for me:
OKC vs. Miami

I won't watch a single minute of the finals if it's OKC vs. Miami, though I'm sure both teams will get all the help possible from the refs and make it to the finals.

Ideal for me

Grizz v. 76ers

I just want a shot at winning.

Worst for me Jazz v. 76ers

I just don't care about those teams.

Ideal: Grizz vs Heat

Finally see Lebron and then watch us deny the Heat another shot at a title.

Worst: Lakers vs Celtics

Can't stand the Celtics and I'm tired of always hearing about their stupid rivalry.

Same here.

Are you sticking by your "won't watch A single minute of the finals" statement?

I'll probably catch the fourth quarters of elimination games at most. I've already got something else going on tonight and won't watch the game... Unless we wind up at a sports bar

Well, I haven't watched a single minute of it so far. I will probably catch the fourth quarter tonight if Miami can close it out.

You have really missed out. This has been a fantastic series.

NBA playoffs rule. Best postseason in professional sports.

I dunno... It takes such a long damn time, but then again best of seven the whole way almost ensures only the best teams move on.

And I still really don't care to see the heat or the thunder win a championship.

To be fair, I'm sure you really enjoy the MLB playoffs, where I really don't care for baseball in general.

Not really. I think 162 games is more than enough to determine the best team in each league. Ideally I'd like to see the best record in each league just go straight to the world series.

I hate how long the playoffs are, and that more than half the league gets in. But these playoffs have been great and this finals series has been amazing.

But you have to admit the nba playoffs do easily the best job of weeding out the bad teams.

Mediocre teams with a hot hand go deep in MLB NHL and nfl all the time. Almost never happens in the nba.

It's the nature of their respective sports, and has nothing to do with regard to how the NBA and MLB* are run, IMO. The best MLB team beats the worst MLB team 6 or 7 out of 10. The best NBA team beats the worst NBA team 9 or 10 out of 10.

*I don't know enough about NHL to opine, and NFL doesn't factor since they can't feasibly do best of 7 series.

It's just the nature of those sports. I tend to value regular season excellence, but I know that puts me in somewhat of a minority among sports fans. Drives me up a wall to see a team slum through a season then catch fire in the end to win it.
