It wasn't easy, but UT and its fans made it through the first search for a head football coach in 16 years. The last few years divided the fan base. And although almost everyone was on board with Fulmer leaving after this season, there was still (and still is) plenty of heated debate amongst Vols fans about who should be the new head coach. I think it is safe to say that this situation didn't exactly bring out the best in the fan base. I think it is fair to say we have seen about a year's worth of ridiculous posts in the last month. We have also learned that 3/4ths of the Vol nation apparently has access to "a source close to the AD." There have been countless rumors posted on this board since the beginning of the season, and the majority of them could probably have been replied to with nothing more than a picture of the faildozer or a simple 'beep beep.'
As we all know, Lane Kiffin is the next head coach here. I'd say most of us are excited and happy to have a young guy who will bring in great recruiting classes and a great staff as well. Some of us, obviously don't feel this way, and apparently, neither does the media. However, what's done is done. Love him or hate him, lets all support Kiffin to bring the Vols back to the level we desire, because lets face it, the past month or so hasn't been a picnic (and the season hasn't really helped that).

Here's to success under Coach Kiffin, and to not having to deal with another coaching search for a long time. Congrats VN, :toast: we've survived the hiring process.

I agree, we all need to get behind kiffen and the new staff so these players get can get back to thinking about football and getting better.

CLK wants to win right away. I think this is going to turn out to be a absolutely wonderful hire. Go Vol!!!!!

CPF wanted to win every game but that didn't work out lately!? I do like the new guy and am hopeful for the future. I like his blood lines. And we all believe that if you win here at Ut, being in the SEC, you have that shot at a National Championship. So why would you want to leave? I hope Coach Kif is here for a long time.

Every sunset leads to a sunrise, its a new era for the Vols,,, the new "c" acronym is going to be a great one, 8 more months till we get to see CLK run out through the T.... GO VOLS!!!!!!!!!

This search turned brother against brother for awhile there haha!!...I do not think I have argued with so many of my fellow vol fans like I have in the past month...Got to admit it was fun at times discussing and arguing who We thought was the best candidate but in the end I knew We would land on our feet and I believe coach Kiffin will be a fine coach although I am still a bit nervous about him, I hope he can put that to rest this fall...If I offended anyone during the search I sincerely apologize...GO VOLS!!!
