They are literally the only players that acted as if they could give two craps about the result of the game today. A moment that encapsulates Scotty Hopson's career thus far: Shooting a terrible three in the second half that led to a long rebound and a fast break. Skylar McBee busted his ass to get back to stop the break. Scotty Hopson was standing on the other end of the floor hanging his head.

Tobias has played hard all season. It is a shame he decided to get on board with this team with a quitter attitude.

It looked to me like the team quit a little over halfway into the first half. Until then, they were playing like they cared. At the beginning of the game the refs weren't calling anything on Tennessee, then everything they did was suddenly a foul or travelinjg. On top of that, one of Michigan's players shoved a TN player to the ground to get open for a three point attempt and no call. That is when most of the team completely gave up, which is unacceptable, but how much do you have to deal with. Michigan started playing dirty and none of it was called.

Michigan shot 1 freethrow the entire game. If you think the officials had anything to do with the outcome, I don't know what to tell you.

first team to win an NCAA game without making a FT (and they did it by 30pts)

My point: players get full scholarships to prepare and play hard every game and try to win. They shouldn't get special thank yous for showing up and doing their job.

Let's see if zcj can defend his boy now. Scotty was a joke, just like he has always been when it mattered. It said a lot when Pearl kept him on the bench in the 2nd half and kept McBee on the floor because they wanted a team that could hustle. So far, Scotty has blown an opportunity to go to the final 4 and quit today. But I guess, it's because we as a team asked so much of him this year. Kinda makes you wonder how Ferdette at BYU can keep on playing this way since his team asks so much from him, or Kemba Walker. If Scotty can't handle carrying a team, then he shouldn't be playing basketball.

when we were up 7 in the 1st half, why in the hell did he pull ALL five starters???? there is NO reason for Mcbee, Golden, and Pearl to be on the court at the same time in the 1st half. seems to always happen.....we get on a run, and CP screws it up with his terrible game managing !!!! don't pull them ALL out at once. peal should NOT be playing D1 basketball!!! i think that CP is a great Xs and Os coach. i just don't always agree with all the subbing he does.

A little clarification. Meant the players giving up due to officiating, especially a little over half way through the first half.

Why would they have given up because of the officiating? Every walk call was blatantly obvious. And the charges were blatantly obvious. It was a well officiated game. Don't kid yourself about the refs causing anything.

If you are going to call me out, at least get the three letters right.

I didn't watch the game. I was hanging with some friends and family I had not seen in a while. I've talked to my dad and he said that the whole team quit. There is no excuse for quitting in the NCAA tourney. Period.

I will give them one or two of the travels were obvious, the rest were not. Half of the charges the defender was still moving as he got hit. Not a charge. Scotty did have a bonehead charge going to the lane against three defenders. From what I saw the players gave up after a slew of bad calls ending the first half. Remember, we went from three team fouls with little time in the first left to over the limit before the half. The players did quit, and in my opinion the officiating had something to do with that. Like i said earlier though, that is still inexcusable and should never happen at this level.

Calling charges under the basket is ruining the game even further IMO. College basketball needs a charge circle. No wonder its all three point shots now. . .too many defenders flopping right under the basket.

They already have one.

So now you are just going to take a portion of hatvols posts and repost them?

At least you added Hall. His cult following is weird.

Let me get this right. We lost by 30 and a couple of bad/no calls was the reason that caused the team to quit and get blown out, really?

Williams played his ass off today, too. We were down about 20 and he was still hustling down the court to break up an easy fast break.
