Not to beat a dead horse but IMO i think a recruit would want to know who the OC is before he commits and that day is coming soon.

I tend to agree with this.

Unless the kid is totally sold on buTch, his systems and Tennessee.

Tennessee alone would be enough reasons for me but I may be a tiny bit biased.

VFL...GBO!!!

They won't say who OC is until after because it's going to be a promotional thing and no one wants that

Sounds like potential OC's, position coaches, current staff, and Butch Jones himself wanna know who the AD will be.

I really don't think any of our current commits came because of Debord but for the uncommitted sitting on the fence the uncertainty could tip it in favor of another school.

If they end up going the Co-OC route to get the right QB coach in here, they might just want to wait and introduce both of them at the same time.

Recruiting is going poorly because the SS Lyle Jones is ass up in the water...the OC hiring is just the lights going out.

Swell. Though the need to hire a OC has been stated numerous times in other threads, we now have another one. Beating a dead horse? That one is fertilizer.

yep, wouldn't mind it myself...be nice for all concerned...didn't know it would become the monumental task it has become...oh, well, just another day in paradise...:)

GO VOLS!

FYI this is pure speculation. I would bet that the reason for delay is because of Trey Smith and the Early Enrollees. Once they have signed the papers, then the staff changes will take place (ie., once classes start back they can sign). It seems too risky to make any changes before that. If you are sitting on one of, if not the best player in the country and he is committed to you offensive scheme, do you risk changing it up a couple weeks before he signs his papers? I also think this is why Butch said that he is not overhauling the system/changing it completely, he is only enhancing it. Do you scare a kid off who may be the best player in the country? No. Once the papers are signed, you can do whatever you want. He is far too big of a name to risk scaring him off by your hire.

When the current class ranking in the four services range from#8 to #11, the recruiting class is not going poorly. try something else to bash the program and coaches. This one failed.

If back to back 9 win seasons is what sinking looks like, count me in.

He was 8-4 in games that mattered, 4-4 in conference and tied for 4th. This, after being picked to win the east and pre-season Top 10. So, stop with the 9 wins non-sense.

For now, lets get through signing day before we judge recruiting

That's what the "true fans" say is the goal, 8 wins and a bowl..... We should get t-shirts made

To be fair, this is due more to our not having an AD in place.

There are a lot of teams directly behind us in the rankings with room to take several more players. UT will probably make a few more swaps but I think this class finishes somewhere between 12-15.

Games that mattered? I'm pretty sure they all matter. We've won 9 games back to back. I know it breaks your heart, but the ship is not sinking

Stands to reason that recruits would want to know what they are potentially signing on for with the next four years of their lives but reason has been in very short supply in Knoxville the past decade or so.

Still think we end up seeing Scott and Cavales on the sidelines running the offense and get to spend the next 7 months hearing about how great a fit they are from the talking head of the program.

That's what I am thinking as well and it may be worse depending on the recruiting service.

USC, Clemson, Penn St, SC, and Miami all have plenty of open spots and they are all directly behind the Vols.
