I wish we'd change our schedule.

Play Kentucky third and end the season with Florida. Losing to the hated Gators so soon after the season begins is disheartening. Yes, I KNOW that we could just WIN and make this a moot point, but I really wish we played UF later in the season.

I agree completely. I think '01 is a good illustration of how fun that could be.

It's not a problem for us when we win.... Michigan v. Ohio state is just hype. There are so few rivalries in the Big Ten worth talking about. it's that conferences' big game of the year. How many big games have we already had this year?

Florida/Tennessee
Georgia/Bama
Arkansas/Kentucky
Kentucky/SC
Auburn/Florida
Florida/LSU

Ohio State vs Michigan is bigger than all of those games. It is only one big game but it is the biggest big game, and I'm not just saying that because I live in Ohio. I really think that is easily the best rivalry in college football.

Yeah, but Bill, it doesn't matter to me if the Gators are ranked dead last. I STILL do not want to lose to them EVER. Especially not 3 weeks into the season.
LIO, woman after my heart, my ex (thank God, Allah, Buddah, the Dali Lama and Mother Teresa) wife is a gator. I couldn't agree more. The gators are, and always will be, my most hated rival. I can only pray my daughter wakes up and realizes that Knoxvegas is the only way to go. I have been to gainesville too many times andf have nothing but disdain for the "gator nation". Most are arrogant, pompous.....well...you know where I'm headed.

So, LIO, want to have dinner with me? I'll drive! :)

I hate UF more than any school in the country---their fans are second to none in their level of obnoxiousness, win or lose! They are definitely UT's biggest rival. Next year, UT will blow them out in Knoxville---I've already got the date circled.

I hate it happened due to 9/11...but I loved it in 2001 when we played UF the last game of the season. It would be incredible to have that timing every year.

The best rivalry in college football is Alabama-Auburn, followed closely by OU-Texas. Ohio State-Michigan is only important to people operating under the mistaken assumption that Big 10 football is relevant.

They don't change it because the candy-a$$es in Florida are afraid of playing UT and FSU back to back.

I will have to strongly disagree with you there. I think the Big 10 is terrible this year, but I still think Ohio state and Michigan is the best rivalry. I actually think the Big 10 being bad makes that rivalry better because it often comes down to them on the last day of their season. This rivalry has a ton of spoilers.

I like it early, because it sets the tone for the rest of the year. We also have a better chance of having everyone healthy..

I wouldn't want to play 2 rivals in a row, not because of fear, but just because it would be a little anticlimactic for the first game.

But I love the situations where it all comes down to the one game, and you know it is win or lose.

What are your thoughts on Army/Navy?

Florida should play Florida St in the 3rd game of the year and Tennessee the last game of the year. I think we've earned it.....sorta.

Florida State already plays Miami too early to go along with that. I would be all for it though..
