I wish Fulmer was the AD in charge of this search

I have no confidence that Currie can deliver a great coach.

He is perceived to be somewhat of a snake, and has a bad reputation from many of his dealings with coaches, including his hand in the firing of Fulmer which has set UT back so far.

And now, in the moment of his biggest duty as AD, he leaves the country on a fun beach trip with the BB team.

Fulmer on the other hand is respected across all ranks of coaches. His contacts and friendships throughout the coaching industry would have led to a great hire, IMO.

He would have used every ounce of his experience and love of this great school to give us nothing less.

Fulmer would hire himself.

Silly! You are basing your thread on...nothing! There is nothing that has happened that would make any of us believe Currie is not up to the task...and absolutely nothing to make us believe Fulmer is.

He already has the coach. Stop assuming stuff.

I have never seen the Athletic Drpart ahead of the game when making a hire I just do not see them already having a coach lined up and ready to go. It is not typical of how they operate.

He would hire a better coach than what we're hearing today. The Fulmer loathing beats all, IMO. Fulmer won us our only National Title in the modern era and some clowns compare him to Shoneys Big Boy.

That's an experiment for another time. Love of a university is not the end all to beat all. The man has an agenda... and given the chance he would love to have the opportunity to right the wrongs against his termination. He had his run... It is well documented.

This program needs to get it right this time... no more have ass'd hires, put this mess in the rear view mirror. Most here know that requires a quality hire and a healthy budget to ensure not only for the HC but as well his staff.

If Currie goes the other route, then we are back here pizzing and moaning again... in 3 yrs or less.

What’s sad is that people will blame Fulmer if Currie hires a bum when apparently Peyton is the one with Currie’s ear.

Oh sure, PF really knows something about referring great coaches to others. Check his recommendation to East Tennessee State and see how that has worked out for them. His recommendation.......Carl Torbush, 66 years old and 10-18. Great job, Fulmer!
