is the guy I want. I know folks say that he has a problem with discipline but I do not agree. I heard that he came down real hard on some of his players when he found out they were actually going to class.

Who cares the Drunk needs to stay far away from UT. UT doesn't need him nor do they want him! He wouldn't know disclipine if it bit him in the @$$!

Travis Ford= excellent coach, excellent player, knows the competiveness it takes to succeed in SEC, energetic, workaholic, eats breaths and sleeps basketball

probably all true... BUT I think the downside is not very experienced and still unproven.

Bob Huggins should never be mentioned in the same sentence as UT, ever. The guy makes ONeill look like Buzz Peterson.

Not sure Bob Huggins would want to come to Tennessee. I suspect it is for leverage in his contract negotiations. Granted his buddy AD is gone, but I honestly can't see Bob leaving UC. As a UC graduate and a big Bearcat fan, I would love nothing more than Bob to come to Tennessee. (Relax everyone I am a bigger TN Vols fan.) Anyway despite his personal problems, which I honestly believe he has addressed, he is an awesome basketball coach. He wins. It is that simple. If you want nice, then Buzz is the man. If you want wins, Bob is a nice choice. From the UC Basketball website: "His 566-197 record (.742) amassed during his 24 seasons as a head coach ranks him seventh in winning percentage and 11th in victories among active Division I mentors. His string of 13 consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances is the third-longest active streak." Whoever said that Bob was not a disciplinarian...wow. Not read many news stories about UC Basketball I bet...

I have been told that Huggins has a 0% graduation rate of his players. Can anyone confirm this? Something to consider.

With the new NCAA rules not considering grad rates and your program will die with loss of scholarships.

Bob sure has come under fire for that one. In the late 90's there was some truth to that story (ok a lot). He had a lot of players going to play Basketball elsewhere after their eligibility had expired, however he has worked with them coming back and graduating. Keith LeGree is an example of that. He left before he graduated, then came back and finally did graduate, now he is an assistant coach on the team. Now (In the last 5 years or so) Bob has a pretty good grad rate.

For those doubters here is a link or 2.

UC Bearcats

One of the writers at hoopville put the number at 17% or something like that. The University however reported a substantially higher rate.

USA Today

And finally as we can see unfortunutely it is not only a Bob Huggins issue. Pretty wide spread. Also if I screwed up the links, I am sorry. It was my first attempt at adding links.

TN Vols1. Not sure at which school that was directed. UC Basketball Team actually made it, as opposed to say the Tennessee Men's Basketball program, which did not. UC's score was above 925 (Only the football team didn't make it... But there was a coaching change.)
