That's when Appy St plays Miami. What if they happen to beat Miami and become the darlings of college football again? After having some time to think, it could be possible that the team we just played was very well coached and very disciplined and true to who they are. It's a very difficult matchup when you play a team that has just as much confidence as you and they fully expected they were going to win that game before they even stepped on the field. Now if Miami goes out and lays the hammer on them, I believe we have a long season ahead of us if we don't get the OL situation corrected. That was probably the most eye popping thing I saw. Several of our OL looked like they were playing high school ball, Coleman Thomas cough cough, but once again that could be that their coaches put them in the best formations and situations to succeed. So I will wait until that matchup on 9/17 to see if we just played a very good 11 win team or if we flat out pissed the bed because we had that little number 9 beside our name. Either way they need to forget what just happened and get ready for VT because if we go out and take care of business that should get the ball rolling for the rest of the season.

I think they beat Miami. Richt is a good coach don't get me wrong but there is no way any man can turn a burning pile of dung into gold in the amount of time he has been there.

I'll reserve judgement until 9/10, which is OUR next game. If we come out and improve on the areas that we weren't good on (which was a lot) and beat VT, then who will care about last nights game?

App State will beat Miami. They're a good team. But we still should've played better against them.

I'm reserving judgment till we play Va-Tech. That will show us whether this was a fluke or cause for concern.

This is my sentiment, exactly. Don't compare how UT played a game against an opponent to the way another team played that same opponent. Watch and see how UT does in its next games; that's the true measure of the team. Any Saturday (or Thursday in this instance) can result in some crazy events.

It was a scary win and leaves a lot of concerns, but UT didn't play North Texas particularly well last season and they still came out and ran over a lot better teams throughout the season and App St. is a much better team than North Texas.

But if we don't volnation will be shut down from the amount of traffic. And alcohol sales will double in the state of Tennessee.

Rightfully so. They have no business losing to VT. I think we'll see a much better team next weekend. I don't think we'll play that bad again this season. If we come out and handle VT I won't have any concerns at all, I'll chalk game 1 up as our team overlooking them.

I'm just glad we get to have 3 games under our belt before we play Florida.

I'll wait till next week, I'm still under the impression that Debord refused to play anything other than vanilla except for the one play to Malone. Course, doesn't help when the team was clearly over looking App either. Jmo

4 years and same product. This coaching staff and fanbase has maxed out. They have hit their ceiling.

What do you suggest, not play the rest of the season?

app state could beat miami with that run game, canes defense was already suspect before they kicked off there 2 best players on that side of the ball. but miami has a very good qb (brad kaaya) and a offense that will freely air it out. i expect a good game but i wouldnt be surprised if the canes won by a td or 2. and that has no reflection to the game we just played against appstate. terrible mistakes early/shotty playcalling on offense/ oline getting zero push. we play appstate 10 times i guarantee last nights outcome doesn't happen more than once.

If the Oline don't have major improvement, we will struggle to win 6 games. App State is not that good.
