I'm not sold, good for you GaSouthernVol, but working doesn't matter if there aren't results. I won't feel good about this hire until SEC play starts in 09' and see some action, I knew this season was down the tubes after watching UCLA. Your a better man than me. The real proof in the pudding will be 2 yrs. after Monte retires, that will be yr. 4 of the Coach K Admin.

10' +2 or 3 games & bowl
11' Monte is gone, Lane will do the same as 10' and maintain (hopefully)
12' will really tell if Lane learned enough to make it in the SEC, but if Lane doesn't do the same as 10' (+/- one game) then you can expect the program to keep slippin' and we run out Lane's contract and start this again,....HELL YES, we will be the 21st Century ver. of BAMA 97'-07', awesome.

U know for someone who is not so optomistic about the hire and his staff that will be joining him, you sure know a lot about what our record will be and when Monte is going to retire and what to expect from Lane. Sounds like you have been coaching in the SEC for years.....:huh:
Why dont you wait and see. Give the guy a chance he is bringing a great staff and will probably land a top 10 recruit class and only had 2 months to do it in. Tennessee will be back next year! Only thing we lacked this year was an offense, the defense was great, now just think what it will be like with a good D coordinator.

Our offensive problems came from a very complex offensive scheme that did not have enough time to sink in to the players heads for them to understand the concept. X's and O's became a Mathmatical Equation with Clawsen and that will change next year!
