With all the emotion of this week, I was feeling bad for him. I still knew Mike Hamilton did the right thing, but it was going to be harder to see Fulmer leave, but after this embarrassment, good riddance. Fulmer ruined his image in my eyes.

The stat that sums up the sickness in the UT Program.

BYU vs UCLA & Wyoming = 103 - 0
UT vs " " = 31 - 40

I now have 0 remorse if the whole staff gets canned. I could care less if Scott and Drayton aren't retained and we lose Boyd/Giles/Oku, it will still be a huge step up with virtually any coach.

This loss (and the whole season in my opinion) is 90% DAVE CLAWSON's fault. The guy is a pathetic excuse for a coach, offensive coordinator and person. Yes - I said person. He misled all of us by proclaiming that his offense would "get the ball in the hands of the playmakers." Liar. Clawson is an absolute fraud and is a waste of oxygen.

Remember - other than QB, we have almost the exact same personnel on offense as last year. That's pure coaching.

He's a nice guy, it makes you want to give him the benefit of the doubt.

The problem with trying to find the next Jim Tressel in D2 or the Next Urban Meyer in the MWC is that those guys are the exception, not the rule.

Some of u may be correct on Dave Clawson but remember Fulmer stopped Clawson twice this year from replacing Crompton and he always has the head set on and he is the most conservative coach in history so we will never know if we saw the real Dave Clawson but we r seeing the real Fulmer .If that is all the effort he can get out of these kids he should walk away today and save the University he so LOVES any more embarrassment.Wyoming 13 Tenn Vols 7 the worst lose in Fulmers career.

B.S. There are plenty of coaches out there that can get us fans excited about Saturdays again! Tressel doesn't impress me. The only BCS championship he won was when the refs blown call on a pass interference in the endzone against Miami. Other than that, he has got his doors blown off against good teams! The Big 10 is a joke!Meyer and Saban has outrecruited us and its starting to show on the field!

Me too. His press conference got to me but today dried up all the tears. I didn't get to see the game on TV but I did read online that Vicky and Fulmer were smiling as they walked across the field after the loss. That really burns!

Dave Clawson sucks. I agree. Fire him now.

Can we tar and feather Clawson and run him out of town too?

What's sad is that every week brings a new rock bottom. I thought bama week was rock bottom. Then South Carolina. Now this. How low can we go?
F$CK CLAWSON.

I still love my Tennessee VOLS, but I HATE DAVE CLAWSON.
While Clawson is obviously not the only reason for this season (Fulmer, QBs, etc.), the offense is his responsbility. Clawson has ruined countless weekends for me this fall. I hope he takes the first flight out of Knoxville and never steps foot in the state again.

GO VOLS!!!!! I hate, hate, hate, hate David Clawson.

So what is your opinion on Clawson? Should the next staff keep him or what?

i think clawson gets to much blame. if i'm not mistaken it was fulmer who made the decision to stick w/ crompton, not his fault that our qbs completely blow(he didn't recruit that crap). and this is def not his offense. remember the ucla game? the first 2 series we were running more motion, more spread out, and then they changed wrist bands. hmmm wonder who made that call???

I blame Fulmer for hiring Clawson. 100% Fulmer's fault.

Yes + the fact that he has the most inept QB's in our history to work with. Apparently his "system" now only encompasses 10% of the total. It's pretty hard to look good on O when you have a 10th of your anticipated plays to work with. Maybe Clawson isn't ready for this level, but I just can't personally draw that conclusion based on a few games this season.

I haven't felt sorry for Fulmer one bit. He is being well compensated for what he hasn't done over the last 7 years.

My own personal feelings were that they didn't handle the firing appropriately(imagine if they'd waited a week, I don't think many people would be complaining if they axed him tomorrow). It was clearly time to move on though.

After getting drubbed by the powerhouse known as South Carolina? I thought it was perfect timing (without counting my own personal preference of him stepping down in 2005) for the announcement. One because then some of the good candidates out there would know for sure we wanted a new coach, and two because they wanted to make sure a few tickets were sold for Wyoming and KY. How bad would it have been with 50,000 fans in Neyland during homecoming as a sort of protest until the announcement was made.

I think you missed a few more posts expressing my disdain for the guy. Fulmer sucks too, but at least Fulmer "had it" at one point in his career. Clawson never has and never will have the ability to win at a high level in a competitive conference. What a fraud.

Next time Mike put the pink slip under the Christmas tree. Then it wouldn't be so bad along with the 6 million dollar check to cushion the blow

Brian Kelly was Jim Tressel in D2, then proved he could build up a horrible program at CM, then went to Cincinatti and improved upon the success they were already having. He's 47 and ready to move up the big show imo. He's ripe for the picking.
