I heard any of those jackass analysts one more time trying to make excuses for Baylor and their “tired legs,” never once bothering to mention WE PLAYED THE LATE GAME!!! We played to well after midnight, probably didn’t get to sleep til 3 am or later and got easily 4 hours less rest than Baylor. Sheesh, what’s a Vol gotta do to get a little respect around here?!! 🏀🍊🧡

To be fair, Baylor was in a more competitive game that lasted 10 minutes of game time longer. They got more sleep, but Tennessee arguably got more rest by not needing to overexert themselves in the 2nd half vs Virginia and didn't play two additional periods.

Well that wouldn't have had impact on the legs. But yes they were dumb with their oh poor Baylor. They played 10 more minutes of basketball

I disagree with most of that. In an overnight turnaround, if you don’t think a four hour disparity makes a huge difference, you probably haven’t been in that position. And not to mention, we only led VA by a point at the break, I don’t think we were exactly resting up the rest of the way.

Baylor had to overcome an 18-pt deficit vs SJU. They needed 10 extra minutes of game time to do it. They exerted themselves significantly more, not only physically, but also emotionally in that comeback win. Disagree if you like.

This ain't no place for common sense.

All announcers and officials hate us and give us no credit !!

These are mostly 18, 19, and 20 year old young men… We played just as hard as they did the night before! It’s no excuses! This was a back to back Two game tourney!! The conference tourneys consist of just the same! We beat them and the excuses they played an extra 5 mins (exaggerated) isn’t our fault! GBO

The fatigue factor most certainly got to them. We're better with our starters, but our depth makes it worse. That's a closer game in a regularly scheduled contest. We still might win by 15, but that would be a late push

How do you explain the fact that St John destroyed Virginia? Exact same scenario.

Ever thought about being an analyst for CBS Sports? You would fit right in.

Agree. And although they played two extra periods . . . We played the late game.

Only one Baylor player played more than 40 minutes against St. John’s. That was Roach who played 44. He played 76 minutes in the 2 games—comparable to Zeigler who played 74 in his 2 games. Norchad Omier logged just 70. I agree that there was no such advantage enjoyed by Tennessee that would necessitate such bewailing from the announcers—along with the studio crew. Sheesh!

Awww...did I offend your super-sensitive Volunteer feelings? Have you ever thought about being a professional victim who believes the big bad media just auto-always hates Tennessee? ESPN hates us, and now CBS hates us too! Woe is you...😭

No room for independent, unbiased thought around here, I guess. Just toe the victim line and I'll be fine. Noted.

I'm just not so sure UVA is any good, to be honest. And I think St. John's is, plus it's a contrast in styles and SJU dictated the pace. UVA also lost their coach three weeks before the season started, so who knows where their heads are at right now.

That was good, but try a bemoan something really commonplace. Maybe talk about how you’re persecuted for sharing your opinions or something

Good grief, you all act like I said the only reason we won was because Baylor ran an ultra-marathon the night before and we stayed home eating grapes from the hands of Bahamina goddesses.

I'm simply acknowledging that the two teams played very different games the day before and in a game that was going to be much closer in terms of talent than the Virginia game was, that fatigue could be a factor in our favor.

Yes, we came out and pushed them around. We looked like the fresher team. Credit that to whatever you want. Better conditioning, better gameplay, better nutrition...I don't care. At no point did I attribute our win solely to the affects of the game before, and neither did the announcers of the game. Quit being so offended by anything other than effusive unchecked praise.

We kicked Baylor's rear-end from the tip. End of story. Never said otherwise.
