I think we played our worst game they played their best. Congrats are in order still.

Disappointed in the game. Thrilled with the season. Can’t complain! Until next year, GBO!!
Thank you Coach Barnes and players for playing your hearts out all season. Yes, this team has some shortcoming before they can win it all, but we seem to be able to get to the elite 8 with regularity. Eventually Coach Barnes will recruit enough shooters to make the last BIG STEP for success. I’m waiting anxiously for that to happen. Thanks again to all, and can’t wait to see how Coach Barnes builds his next team with recruits and portal. GBO!!!

Still a great season looking back and being the only sec team to advance. Disappointed but heck they gave it a go. Congrats for great season overall guys.
I’ve seen them play better believe it or not.. even all the way back in november they won that invitational tournament we beat houston in and they beat gonzaga in the grand finals by 40

It seems like we always start fast and play our best 🏀 early in non-conference. Idk how we change that. We came into the tournament kinda 🫤 and we exceeded expectations. I just am tired of us not playing our best game in the last game.

We need to kick the ******* 🚪 down. Time isn’t forever. We need to take advantage of these opportunities. Barnes has MAYBE 3-4 years left coaching. I want him to get a 💍 and at least a Final Four before he hangs it up

I want nothing more than to see that as well my friend.. and to touch on the fact we always seem to play absolutely horrid in our last games … well you kinda become numb to it after awhile as sad as this is to say i don’t even get my hopes up anymore for those type of games or situations we find ourselves in only because I’ve been heartbroken one too many times

I agree for the most part about the early season success, but that was before Phillips was lost for the season. I thought he and Estrella really made a good combination. It also took some time for some of the new guys got comfortable in Barnes system. I would really like to see Ament stay for another year, but the big money will not allow that possibility. Haven't seen any recruiting updates so don't know who Barnes is trying to bring in. I would love to see him get a National Championship before he leaves, but he wouldn't be alone in being a great coach and never winning the big one.

Vols were not going to beat that team. When the teams walked out on the floor, it looked like Michigan outweighed the Vols 20 lbs per man. Wolverines were bigger, stronger, faster, and the better team all year long. Jaylen Carey was the only Vol physical enough to hold his ground against them.

Vols overachieved to get there and it was a very good year. Tennessee blessed to have Rick Barnes as the Coach.

We always have trouble with Michigan, no matter when we play them. They always have guys that are bigger and stronger than we are. They're especially damn good this year. I hope that Rick Barnes was paying attention as this is the blueprint we need to get us a team to the Final Four.

We underperformed during the regular season. But we overachieved and got farther than I expected us to in the Tournament. So, I consider us making it all the way to the Elite Eight a great success. I hope that this is success that we can replicate and continue into next season and we finally make that next step to the Final Four and closer to a National Championship.

We lost to one of the best teams I've seen in years and wouldn't be shocked if they tear down the nets next Monday night. I give the Wolverines of Michigan props and are very proud of what our BasketVols have accomplished this season.

No shame in losing to this Michigan team. They've blown out some really good teams this year so it's not too surprising. They're a great offensive team that could likely win it all. Michigan is a buzzsaw that many ran into.

Hats off to Tennessee for overachieving to beat good teams like Virginia and Iowa St. and a heck of a coaching job by Barnes getting the most of this team.

I understand what you're saying, but we just went into a huge hornet's nest when we got to Michigan yesterday in the Elite Eight. They're just outstanding all the way around and we just didn't have the firepower to overcome what they brought to the table. If we can get Danny White to allocate a little more NIL cash to help us fit the last one or two pieces of the puzzle for this team, I think that maybe, just maybe, Rick Barnes can finally break through that glass ceiling and get us the Final Four and National Championship. But things need to happen before that happens.

Unfortunately, I think you are right. I see no one complaining about all the fouls that were called. I think this means that we were doing everything we could to stay in the game, but they were just too good on that day. Sure, we could have made it closer, but without a truly healthy Ament, it was simply not going to happen. Even healthy, he and JG would have had to put on a clinic to keep us in the game.

Not sure how much of it was the ankle but Ament really struggled with the physicality of the game. That early drive where he ended up on Mara and the big man walked him down under the goal and dunked on him was not a good sign. On offense, Ament couldn't beat his man off the dribble and the larger defender kept pushing him further and further away from the basket. Most of his shots in the half court, ended up being fall away jumpers when he couldn't back his man down at all.

No doubt, I would expect his main goal to be to put on weight in the off-season, if he were returning for next year. However, when you have an ankle injury, you can appear just fine, but be unable to do some of the things that you normally do. Perhaps, he would have been able to push off harder, or jump quicker and higher, if his ankle had not been weakened.

He simply wasn't the same player, after the injury. Again, not in disagreement about the physicality aspect at all.

Still a great season looking back and being the only sec team to advance. Disappointed but heck they gave it a go. Congrats for great season overall guys.

Both things can be true, the team had a great season overall and put forth an embarrassing performance on a national stage.

Iowa State, Houston, and Alabama (Tuscaloosa) were our best games this year. Offensively we didn't take many 3's because we didn't have the shooters that could make them consistently. I don't think you get to F4 without that but we got close. Probably got a little lucky in the MM draw with teams that didn't match up with us very well. An E8 3-peat is historic and we have a great HOF coach. Plenty to be proud of with this program

Disappointed, but in reality, I gave us a decent shot at getting beat first game of tourney, coming off the SECT and final run of games in SEC. I went to UVA game in Philly, but wasn't thinking we'd post a W there either. Kudos for them to get to Elite 8, which was entirely not anticipated, but as Barnes said in presser, we've got to find a way to hit shots...and I'd imagine is a point of emphasis in off season...just as adding more muscle in post was focus last year.

Stage was clearly too big for them. Having said that, they certainly outkicked their coverage. Great season.

After the season we had, I'll take an Elite Eight and call it a success. But damn it, realistically, I didn't see us beating this Michigan team. They're so damn good. No shame in admitting that we just lost to a much better team, that's all.
I was in Vegas last week. I did a money line bet on Michigan to win the NC. They are good. Illinois is too

Michigan beat TN, Gonzaga, Auburn, UCLA, and a couple of other decent teams all by 30+ points this year, not to mention what they did to lesser competition. When they’re “on” the Wolverines suffocate and demolish the opposition. With horrific shooting that day—especially by our best players—the result was no surprise.

I’ve thought from the beginning of the tournament either Michigan or Arizona would win it all. Now they play in the semifinals. Should be one helluva game.

As for our Vols, they won two more tournament games that I thought they would and played quality basketball doing it. I’m very happy & proud.
