I think the pressure may just be off Tennessee at this point.

Based on their achievements thus far and bball history for the Vols in general, I hope they play like gang busters now and give an all out effort. If they do lose, at least go down swinging! Can I get an amen?

Yeah the pressure should be off. No one expects us to beat louisville anyway. It wouldn't surprise me if we handle them easily.

i would think there's more pressure than ever. Everyone wants to see Tennessee finally get over the Sweet Sixteen hump and to do so they must beat one of the hottest teams in the nation, a team that on paper should give them fits? Yeah, you're right, no pressure there.

Tenn will be ready to play. I really think our players will go all out for this game. They know what is on the line. This team is resilient and will give their best effort.

i think they'll be ready as well. There's still a ton of pressure though.

I agree there is some pressure, but there definitely could have been more. All I want is for Tenn to win this game and advance to the Elite 8. Everything else after that is gravy for me.

I just read somewhere that L'ville shoots 33% from the Free Throw line. Is this true? If so, I'd say we have the advantage on paper. Also, in talent, depth, and discipline.

That's not their average. They just shot 33% in FTs in the previous tournament game.

Ya i think there is pressure because this team has a chance to do wat none other before them has done.... make it to the elite eight.... after they do that they have established themselves in BIG ORANGE history and can just go at it with absolutely no one (besides us lol) thinking they can beat UNC:eek:k:

I expect the pressure to be on, as well. But this team has performed well under pressure all year, no reason they won't Thursday. Go Vols.

I have an irrational and factually worthless gut feeling Lofton will go off against Louisville, and we'll punch our ticket to the regional finals without too much drama or last minute bravado necessary.

But of course, that is just a "feeling." Whatever those are worth.

Didn't you feel we'd handle Butler easily too?

I'll admit, it certainly would be nice to see Tenn win a 10-15 point game over Louisville. I need a break from the nail biting games.

I felt confident we would win it by an 8 to 10 point margin, or something like that.

Obviously I was wrong seeing as how we went to overtime. But we did win!

I felt good about Memphis. I felt bad about Vanderbilt.

I felt good about Arkansas too though... As I said, this doesn't mean anything. I am not psychic. I am just not feeling that panicky feeling that I often do before big games. I think our guys will come ready to play.

I was nervous about the game yesterday afternoon, but as I have analyzed the teams today I am growing more comfortable heading towards Thursday. I just have a confident feeling that we will pull out the victory.

I think the pressure is much greater, albeit different. They have performed to the equal of prior teams, but they haven't played well as of late and they know that. They are probably hearing that they are due to lose because they just aren't all that good and so they will want to win to show everyone they belonged as a 2 seed.

Now, win this one and then I think its a whole different scenario. Then, they really do have nothing to lose.

One somewhat comforting thing is there are no more trap games. It is impossible at this point in the tournament. Everyone is an established good team with sweet 16 credentials. They wouldn't be here if they weren't lethal to at least two other tournament teams.

There is no Vanderbilt waiting in the weeds after no. 1 Memphis. There is no @ KY at the end of a stretch of 3 games in 6 days.

There is Louisville, standing in the way of Tennessee's first Elite Eight. Everything beyond that is obstructed by that game, and everything behind is trivial memory at this moment in time.

If our players can't get up and get focused for any games they play from here on out, they deserve to go home.

Agree 100% and I do not think there is any chance that they have any sort of emotional letdown for this game, or any others they may be fortunate enough to play in at this point. Intensity will not be an issue.

Hopefully Lousiville shot up some of their bullets with the 30 point win over Oklahoma. We are kinda due a big game; but if we don't play better we'll be bounced.
