In retrospect I look back thru the years since the early 70's when I started following the Vols. So many names..plays...sights n sounds. The 1st time I stepped into Neyland stadium and saw the inside I was a kid and saw em play UCLA...It may sound corny to some but the stadium inside ....the view opening before me ...I was speechless it was like walking thru the pearly gates and seeing heaven...it was so big. Along in all that was John Ward...his voice was truly the paint that formed the portrait. His enthusiasm for the University was in his voice, demanding you join the Rocky Top army! Under the current circumstances of this season I re-visit why I became a fan. I encourage all to take a little therapy....listen to John Ward sound bites or watch a game recording from the games past.

They played some highlights of the 1985 team before the game on Sat, which included John's announcing. It was nice to hear "give him 6" over the PA speakers.
