Knoxville's not a bad place to live. I keep a condo there for a reason.
New York isn't for everybody. For a single, heterosexual, professional male? It's as good as it gets. A family man with kids? I don't know about that. That's true, it might be THE best place to live in the fall, especially if the Vols are winning.
Plus my fiance and I plan on traveling and Knoxville isn't a bad place to be because you can get to a lot of locations (Cincy, Atl, beaches etc) in minimal driving time.
I am jealous you lived in NYC though, I've been twice and I love it!
Yes, Nama is fabulous. I haven't been to Charlottesville in years. My diet was mostly fast food the last time I was there, which was probably UT's NIT beatdown in the early '90s.Which is? Nama? Going to Kville tomorrow and might want to check it out.
BTW, have you ever eaten at Ten in Charlottesville? It's NYC grade.

La Costa is run by Gregg White, also the proprietor of Nama. They have a very eclectic menu. Fine selection of margaritas, as well.Good to know. Been to La Costa in Market Square? good? bad?
Don't know why I threw out Ten Sushi/Cville - Nama just reminded me of it - small college cities with surprisingly sophisticated sushi restaurants.
This is subjective so I will not state that you are wrong, but there is a relatively new entrant in the Nashville area sushi scene, Hanabi, which in my opinion is even better than Shintomi in Green Hills (my former favorite). I commend it to anyone.Nothing at all. It also has nothing to do with having the best sushi in the state of Tennessee within a 3 minute walk.
Not at all. My roots don't bother me one bit. I simply prefer large cities. However, when some pig farmer from an area whose major industries involve banjos and transplants from Michigan talks smack, I will educate him.
