that's it almost FOOTBALL TIME. At UT the big 18 wheeler equipment truck is parked beside the practice field getting ready to go to UCLA.

I am fairly certain that Fulmer said on the Doug Matthews show yesterday that the team will leave Saturday.

Is life demanding without understanding?

But nothing's gonna grab you up and bring you into the light where you belong

Just because of its popularity when I was in high school, it is the Tesla version that I hear in my head.

There is this movie called "Slackers" with Devan Sawa where he plays a....well...a slacker...

Anyway...there is a scene where he is having an epiphany about his life and the whole time there is this church choir singing The Sign by Ace of Base...and there is also this drumline that goes along with it thats pretty cool...

Thats what was in my mind when I saw the thread....that and the usual voices

Also....the South Park episode of Steve, the prehistoric ice man from the 80's.

Slackers is a great movie, btw.

Sounds like you might have gone to CCHS. Although the Ace of Base song was catchy, I liked Tesla's "Signs,Signs, Everywhere Signs" better. Now that it's been mentioned, I can't get " I saw the sign", by Ace of Base out of my head. BTW, who sang the original version of "Signs"? I don't think it was Tesla. Seems like it was Bob Dylan or someone similar,if there is someone similar to him.

It really is a damn shame that anybody would associate "Signs" with Tesla instead of the Five Man Electrical Band. If it's One Hit Hippy Wonder vs. Generic Hair Band, don't you have to just go with the original artist?

(And don't tell me you're too young to know the original. Every American man has had enough so-called classic rock pumped into his skull to know it, right?)

I'm sorry that I didn't remember their name. To be honest with you, I have heard their version but have never known who sang it besides Tesla. This is the first time that I have ever heard their name and I am past the age of 30.

Well, not really the (dumb) name of the band so much; just their version of the song. What's a shame is that so many people apparently think of the Tesla version first. It's like somebody hearing "Sittin' On The Dock of the Bay" and thinking of it as a Michael Bolton song.

(Not to compare the immortal Otis Redding to a bunch of one-hit Canadian longhairs. At least much.)
