I repeat: we have not clinched the EAST

Tennessee's Magic Number is 5.

If it gets to 3 on Saturday, go ahead and buy your SEC Championship Game tickets.

Worse Case Scenario I hope:

5. LSU over Florida/Arkansas
4. USCe
3. UK
2. Mizzou
1. Vandy

Preferred:

5. Beat aTm, 8 Oct
4. Florida loses to LSU, 8 Oct
3. Beat Alabama, 15 Oct
2. Beat USCe, 29 Oct
1. Georgia Beats Florida 29 Oct
+1 Beat Tennessee Tech, 5 Nov
+2 Beat Kentucky, 12 Nov
+3 Beat Mizzou, 19 Nov
+4 Beat Vandy, 26 Nov
+5 Win SECCG, 3 Dec
+6 Win CFP Semifinal, 31 Dec
+7 Win National Championship!, Jan 9

Florida may lose to Lsu, Uga , and Arkansas with that bad offense - they may end up on the lowly Birmingham bowl again!

That's not how it works.

Since UT beat UF and UGA, the vols would have to lose 2 SEC games if florida wins out and 3 SEC games if Ga wins out. Most likely Ga will beat florida and win the rest of their SEC games. Worst case, if UT splits a&m and alabama, they win the SEC east, presuming they beat the other SEC east lightweights.

Look, OP is right, we just don't yet have the votes for it. And plus, this isn't one of those direct election things, anyway. It all has to go through the electoral college. Which means we can win the popular vote and still lose the SEC East title. It takes two of the four judges saying we get through to Hollywood week, not just one. With two, it's a tie, but tie goes to the competitor.

So let's wait and see how it turns out. I'm with Behr on this one.

Hey if we win out and Florida wins out, maybe we both get selected. We could play them in the SECCG and beat'um again.

Doesn't matter if Florida wins out, we beat them and Georgia.

Really?

If we lose to a&m and ALA, and Florida wins out, they win. We have to take care of our business and not worry about what others do.

This entire thread reminds me of the famous quote from the Book of Cyril:

The Book of Cyril said:
"There shall, in that time, be rumors of things going astray, erm, and there shall be a great confusion as to where things really are, and nobody will really know where lieth those little things...with the sort of raffia work base that has an attachment. At this time, a friend shall lose his friend's hammer and the young shall not know where lieth the things possessed by their fathers that their fathers put there only just the night before, about eight o'clock."

We have control of the East but....we MUST WIN with TAMU or Alabama to retain, otherwise, Florida/GA could get back in the running for it.

we will win the tie breaker over GEORGIA AND FLORIDA, if we win 1 out of 2 game these next weeks then we will win it..we should beat vandy and south Carolina and KY, THEY SHOULD GO 11-1 based on schedule

Florida and LSU likely to be cancelled. If they somehow play LSU is without Fournette, like I said boys... Tennessee needs to beat A&M!
