I really need to fast from vol nation. I do enjoy these conversations. Look guys championships aren't cheap. These young men pay for championships with blood, sweat and tears. Our coach has been here 4 years, and I don't see any progress and now anarchy has set in. I think he lost the team and we need to get the right guy. One guy in particular won't be a Kings ransom Ed Oregrum, Art Briles, ( don't give a darn he wins football games) and Lane Kiffin. Let's forgive and forget. 3 of those guys want another chance. Let's get quality coaching this time.

Excellent post !!! My thoughts exactly. Get Art Briles on the phone !!! Somebody will give him a second chance and win big because he's a proven winner. Just look a Louisville with Petrino. For once, it might as well be us who goes out and hires a proven winner instead of a bargin basement blue light special from the MAC or Sun Belt conference.

Ed O is a great interim coach but was a dumpster fire at Ole Miss in the job full time
Lane K is a great offensive mind but a horrible head coach -- he proved that at his dream job and got left at the airport

There's more to the job than winning games, and Briles brings baggage I'm not sure our Univeristy wants right now,

Go get the guy that runs the ROTC program. That worked out pretty good for us the time we tried that.

Lane Kiffin came into a bad situation. Reggie Bush. Ed O deserves a shot. But Art Brilies knows what he's doing.

Somebody will give Briles a second chance, and watch them win big. The guy made a mistake, and I'm sure he's learned his lesson. After all, he did pay a price by losing his job. He deserves a second chance at some point. It might as well be now, because we sure need somebody who can coach worth a crap.

Dude you need a "fast" from more than VN if you think Ed Orangutan and Lame Kitten could be our next HC. As for Briles, he is damaged goods from his Baylor stint. Sounds like you need a break from the "wacky weed". :crazy:

Petrino isn't going anywhere. He's got a chance for the Playoffs now in the ACC. Why would he move to the SEC? Especially a team that has Bama and Florida on the schedule every year.

What we need to do is stop with all the "fire Butch" crap and coaching searches. Butch isn't going anywhere anytime soon, and I don't give a rip if you like his scheme or not, he is our coach. This crap doesn't help anything. When the right time comes, those that actually can make that decision will make it, and they won't check the pulse of a message board before doing it. We can all agree this season hasn't played out so far as we dreamed it would, but none of us could have seen the amount of injuries, the loss of leadership on the field, and we all thought our QB would have improved in the passing game and our bruising RB would be unstoppable. It didn't happen, but we still have 4 games left to play and a bowl game, and a lot of potential waiting for their turn. Lets just move forward with what we have and get behind those players that really do give their all, and a Coach that loves being here and wants to succeed as much as we want him to. Let those that have to make those decisions worry about it when the time comes.
