I need a motor for a '94 Toyota pick up & was wondering if anyone here knew where I might find one at a good price.

My dad found a Masterbuilt motor for about $1,100 with the trade in of my old motor. That's the best deal we can find at the moment, others we looked at were around $3,000.

The motor blew back in october & has been sitting at the shop ever since. It would have been fixed earlier but we couldn't afford it due to having to pay for my brother & two sisters in college. I have a little bit of money in stock that I can take out, that's about $800, we can get the extra $300 easily enough & while I don't know too much about vehicles it shouldn't be too hard to take out one motor & put in another so the labor cost shouldn't be high.

I would have sold the truck long ago but it has alot of sentimental value to it.

So if anyone thinks they know where I can get a motor for a better deal than $1,100 (one that runs properly of course) it would greatly help.

Thanks & sorry for the long post.

Hm yeah, replacing a head can be nasty on the bank account. Just remember that with car parts, like everything else, you get what you pay for. That's about all I can say on the issue.

I see you're in 'Dega... there's a company in Jasper called Jasper Engines that remans some engines. I kinda doubt they have any Toyota engines though, mostly GM and Fords. My best recommendation is to check the local salvage yards.
