...when I came across this VaTech message board. Some of you may have seen it, and I'm sure the threads are much like this on all of their boards tonight, but I was struck as it occurred to me how rare - practically unheard of - it is for an event to bring together the fans of virtually all major colleges and otherwise, with no regard for any past bitterness or rivalry. I feel most of you will feel the same that, as a fan of college sports, I was touched to the point of nearly crying when as I scrolled thru this long list of condolences from schools around the nation for our brothers and sisters at Virginia Tech.

Agreed..it's good to know that as much as you might despise a rival school or team that when something like this happens we can all put sports aside and act as humans.

As much as I despise Florida and Bama if this would have happened there I'd feel the same if it happened at UT.

I never have liked VT, because I used to live in an area where you either liked UT and hated VT, or like VT and hated UT. I mean it was like living in the middle of Bama or near the Ohio / Michigan border, even though they never play except maybe one time in my lifetime.

But even with that, I still feel really bad about the shootings, anybody who would want this to happen just because you don't like VT needs help.
