Les' idiotic fake field goal, going for a 54 yard field goal when the kicker's career long was 44, that didn't play into it? He took a gamble on the blitz on the last play. I don't think Les is without blame, but letting Bama march down the field with short slants and comebacks while playing 10 yards off of their receivers is simply mind boggling.

Yeah, but Bama deserves some credit for being able to get out of bounds every time. Hard to argue the philosophy when they have 0 timeouts. If any one of those plays ended up in bounds, LSU wins.

How so? They still had about 50 seconds left when they scored. There was extra time to stay inbounds on a play or two. They even knew it or a screen wouldn't have been attempted.
