...and it's not our biggest issue - but exactly how much is Adidas paying us? I find it very hard to believe it's much more than a company like Nike would.

I'm fine with the team's Adidas gear (although I think the fan apparel is lacking), but the recruits and fans really respond to the Nike brand. Even if Nike pays 5-10% less/yr, wouldn't it still be a wiser investment considering the amount of apparel they would push just in the first few months? It seems like sales would cover that gap pretty quickly, even though we would be starting in the hole after making the switch.

Not to mention it would possibly give us 1 recruit every year that we may not get otherwise.

Thoughts?

Like I said, I don't really mind them...I'm just wondering if anybody thinks the pros of switching outweigh the cons.

Of course, if the AD is in the red as much as people are saying it is, then they're not going to balk when they're offered guaranteed money.

When the contract expires, I would be ok with opening up to the high bidder. Nike certainly has the most teams under contract.

If I were Nike, I would think twice about putting my name/logo on the product we have been putting on the field.

nike puts teams into the most ridiculous 3rd uniforms ever... unless you want the Vols to look like clowns, don't ask for Nike. We have seen enough from FL and GA to see what weird, stupid looking uniforms look like.
