A guy just called in and said UT needs to look at Steve Mariucci and Fulmer should go to Marshall. Excellent.

Ha, we're listening to the same thing. I think they have a hat, with a bunch of coaches from all backgrounds thrown in, and a pool of callers sitting in a room, and when they don't have any calls, they sound an alarm, and one goes to the hat and pulls out a coaches name, calls in and nominates them....

I'm calling in and nominating Wayne Fontes!

Bob Johnson brought up Sam Wyche's name a few days ago... wondering why nobody has given him a call. I haven't heard that name in years before this week.

Somebody the other day called in on Hookers show and recomended we go after Terry Bowden. That is probably the absolute worst recomendation I have heard during the last few weeks. What would possess someone to even think of that. Anyone with the football IQ of a 8 year old could tell that Terry Bowden is a joke.

Everytime I hear that name I think of Scott Mitchell walking around making fun of him in the locker room. He had something stuffed under his shirt like he had a big belly, and had a big cigar in his mouth.

Terry Bowden accomplished more at Auburn than Mike Leach has at Texas Tech.

What do you think about hiring Lou Holtz from ESPN? I'll hang up and listen. :tease2:

I disagree. AU was on the football map before Terry, Im not sure TT was before Leach
With the exception of the last three weeks, Tech has been totally irrelevant nationally for the entirety of Leach's tenure.

of course he's had to build something out of nothing and that takes time. so far he's managed to make them pretty relevant

That won't fly at Tennessee if it takes him a decade to build either.

Tennessee has a little more to build on than Tech. Have you ever been to Lubbock? The fact that he can get recruits to even visit is admirable.

He's done nothing of the sort. He's done what Spike Dykes did. Lose the vast majority of his important games, beat up patsies, play in meaningless bowls. Big deal.

I stand corrected, Dykes beat Texas five times and had 2 nine win seasons in 13 years.

He is the author of the books Spike Dykes' Tales from the Texas Tech Sideline (with Dave Boling) and Principles of Coaching Football (with Mike Bobo).
