I lost my job

Good for you. Hope it didn't sound like I was pointing fingers at you, just talking in general terms. I am an employer and I'm a little tainted by many in the workforce. Hope the best for you and your expanding family.

It's all good! I had to go through a temp agency but there is a promising opportunity lurking that I have to wait on.

You were on point. As an employee, I sympathise with you. I see other employees that NCNS, or call out cause they got a sniffle or a cramp, etc..., and as an employee, it grinds my gears to see this. Then those same employees b**** about their low pay check and still can't figure it out.

I made 12.75 a hour working 7 days a week. I missed a total of one day do to me wanting to go to our first ultrasound. We have a total of 3 points we can occur. That was one &I no call no show is worth 2 and tardy is worth .5. I myself couldn't figure it out but that is why I got let go.

I got a job today so it's all good. The company I worked for is great i would work there again in a heartbeat but it is what it is.

Your old job sounds like a terrible place to work.

Ah, I see.

Its definitely worth checking. Even just getting your foot in the door as a laborer or what not can be worth it.

As an aside, Wally, when I first espied your avi pic without my reading glasses on, I thought it was a saxophone.

I've got a couple guys that are incredibly skilled that I would give substantial raises but their work ethic sucks.

I had to write a lady up for attendance the other day. She started crying about how I was writing her up for having a sick kid. I told her no, she was being written up for all the times she went home because she just didn't want to be there. If she hadn't done that she would've had the time to cover her kid being sick.

So how is the job outlook in eastern Tennessee. I've always wanted to live there, but I couldn't afford to not have savings or an opportunity.

Some people will never get it. When they're not doing their job, they're forcing the boss to do theirs.

congrats, RT...hopefully the temp position thru the staffing agency works out

I'd keep the advice about the machinist, and Oak Ridge opportunities, in mind

Best thing about being a machinist is there is always room for advancement, I'm already looking into becoming a junior programmer, only 2.5 years into my career, the National guard needs machinist as well as the army corps of engineers, they hire contractors basically at ridiculously high rates, downside is you need all your own tools and hve to be basically a master machinist but it pays and I'd like to be there one day.

Might want to list your location too

Check out some distribution centers like Amazon if you're close. Ups also hires a bunch for holiday work

Walmart Distribution Centers (orderfiller or loader) starts out about 16.00 an hour, if your reasonably near one.
