It's as much about a poster wanting to know their comments are read, as it is about searching. The poster feels adding a comment to a thread that already has 30 posts isn't going to have the same impact as starting a new thread.

Message boards have been around a while now. This issue isn't specific to Vol Nation. And it probably isn't going to go away.

Just sayin'.

So you're "just sayin" that it's about ego? Why should the board have to deal with that?

I'm not at all saying the board has to deal with it. I'm saying that's why it happens. This is the best managed board I've ever been to in that regard.

I agree. When I go to other boards, I am amazed that they are able to survive.

My bad volmanbill;
I prematurely ended my search after reading only a dozen or so pages contained in the top 5. A more dilligent investigative search, combined with attention to detail, (I typed in "Kiffin and class,") may have averted this entire tragic episode. Forty lashes with a wet noodle to me, and the author...OFF WITH HIS HEAD!!!:bad:

first thing to try would be wearing latex gloves when you type. if that does not work, some desensitizing cream on the tips of your fingers could be added.

if all that fails, think about baseball.
