I like Gundy but

All of his accomplishments were not in a conference with SEC level competition week in week out. Iowa State? Kansas? Come on.

Even if Gundy says no, the fact that UT is offering $8 mil should create interest from other coaches.

I’m not sure why they are willing to double Gundy’s salary but apparently haven’t offered guys like Petersen the same to at least get an interview with them.

Gundy will probably get yet another raise to stay in Stillwater but at least there is some semblance of a coaching search taking place now.

Yeah. You’re right. Kentucky. Vanderbilt. South Carolina. Arkansas. Texas A&M. Ole Miss.....man. Gundy is really gonna have trouble adjusting to that rigorous mountain range of cfb giants.

Better just go hire Brohm instead.....

Why? It's not your money. It's Jimmy Haslam's and don't we hate him? Who cares what they pay our new coach? Just get the right coach!

Touche. Im not mad about the hire. I love the air raid o. Just seems we went from one extreme to the other.

You want to play, you have to pay.

Maybe Gundy isn't worth $8 million a year, but it's not my money, and after the mess that the Haslams have made of everything, if they have to pay a good coach $8 million a year to come to Knoxville, then they should pay it.

No way in HELL i would pay 8 mil a year...

I agree we are overpaying, but since it's not coming from our pockets then who cares. This would be in the "home run hire" realm like Peterson or Patterson would have been. Better than Mullen in my opinion.
