I know we're young, but I low key think we might be pretty good

Seriously? You just gave 3 names to play an SEC schedule vs teams loaded with NFL bound players.
Redmond, Moe, Sanders, Matthews, Staley, AC, Bishop. All players that could be NFL bound players this year. Faizon, Campbell, Keys, Gilliam, Spillman, Perlotte. All players that have nfl talent but just need another year. We have plenty of players that have the talent but not the experience yet

So, if they all become first round picks, how many wins does that equate to this year?

Well hopefully 16 but I never get what I want so probably 7 or 8. You said only a few are going to the league, we have plenty of players with NFL talent. They’re just inexperienced

If we can play together, and our offense and defense can compliment each other then we can be a good team. It’s easier said than done though

The subject text here is this roster this season and you said it. 7-8 wins.

You really don't believe we have comparable talent? Not many teams have at least 3 nfl
I believe we have several young kids with a lot of talent, but that does us no good in 2026 when Texas, Tex A&M, and LSU are on the other side of the line of scrimmage

IMO we are 8-9 team wins. There are a lot of people saying we have one of the best offensive lines IN THE COUNTRY. Arguably we will ride king Faizon's ability to adapt and Knowles ability to get more out of our defense. I'm a sunshine pumper, we are undefeated till we aint !! I believe the season hangs on Faizon ability to be fairly accurate with the deep ball. We will be a little bit better on defense. Lots of if's ands or butts.

No QB and thin D Line. It is the worst possible combination for them. Also, the offense being adjusted no longer heavily assists the run game as dramatically as their prior setup. They are mediocre anyway, and I think their swing games become losses and make their record slightly worse than where it belongs. It is a 7-5 team that becomes 5-7 with lost confidence and a lack of fallback plan on offense. This puts Heupel in jeopardy, and recruiting collapses. This continues Tennessee's natural cycle in modern football.
You've been singin' with the liars
And they're playin' your worst desires
If I could pull you from the fire
Then maybe I could save you
From those demons in your choir!

I think we surprise a lot of people and win 10 we have a lot of talent
10 wins is doable if Faizon can run this offense. We are stacked on the O Line and at WR. Bishop is one of the best RBs in the SEC as well. The D should be much improved as well. We have one of the best LB rooms in CFB.

We should be a much more physical team this season because Derek Owings is transforming these kids into men. We are going to bully some folks

QB - Faizon
RB - Bishop
RB2 - Gordon
WR - Stacked
TE - Stacked
LT - Sanders Jr
LG - Moe
C - Pendleton
RG - Haslam
RT - Perry
OL6 - Umarov
OL7 - TBD (Osenda? Heard? Ginther? Other?)

DE - Weathersby
DT - Hobbs
NT/DT - Giliam
Leo/Edge - Norman
LB - Stacked
CB - Redmond
CB - Lee
Star - Moss
S - Farooq
S - Metcalf/Lane

My biggest concern is DL depth and chemistry in the secondary. There's some veteran pieces among the DBs, but it's year 1 under Knowles and only Redmond and Farooq have been on a field together previously. If the defense holds up, I think we can surprise some people without Faizon doing anything spectacular.
Have to be able to beat DI teams with winning records.

Reports out of spring ball and summer workouts say the secondary looks.. I don’t want to say good yet but, serviceable. Redmond was looking pretty good and got a few picks in spring scrimmages and there was a report a couple weeks ago that said Farooq looked like he was about to take a step up. Now when it comes to DL depth, hopefully Coach Owings either gets the freshman strong enough to play, or, works everyone so hard they have enough stamina to make it through most of the game
I heard that stacked guy is pretty darn good too

So do the majority of SEC teams. Many of which didn’t wait until year 6 to get serious about their S&C program.

Anything above 7 wins and we will have overachieved. 27-28 is the season we will be positioned to make the leap.

Not going to sell out on our record just yet. All our opponents have variables on staff and roster too. Can you think of any of them that upgraded staff close to us? S&C guy alone is exciting. Net of injuries or lack of and young guys stepping up beyond norm can go EITHER way.

Not sure you are aware, but we know who is on the team for this season. From there, we use a process call extrapolation.

That is code for talking out of your #%% as you have demonstrated often.

I actually feel more positive when card carrying NEGA’s make bold projections the other way before the first snap of fall practice.
