But I think we have to realize that these guys are still kids. They are between 18-22 years old, and most of them look to Fulmer as a father figure. Yes, they are going to be sad, angry, frustrated, etc.

Even though I highly doubt that the players check this board, we have to watch our attitude also. I'm not saying what the players have been doing/saying is right, but they are highly emotional right now. I've seen a lot of threads talking about the players and their comments. It does show the lack of discipline, but I encourage everyone to slow down the down talk a little. College is a tough time of any kids life, they are going through a lot right now

I agree. Further, it is evident that these young men were drawn to UT and CPF for one thing that most will give Fulmer credit for.. loyalty.

I agree, If you'll remember, They did the exact same thing at UF when Zook was fired...When the new coach is hired and gets to meet all the players, They will loosen back up again.

I am sorry but I am not onboard with calling 18-22 year olds "kids". I had already been to Bosnia and Iraq by the time I was 22. They may be immature but they are not kids.

The first line of the OP's post.

Yeah, we appreciate your services. But, yes they still are kids. Anyone who thinks they are an adult without the responsibilities of real life are clueless.

Example, the 4 or 5 guys I know in Iraq are the most childish people I know. They are 20-25 years old, and they are still kids

My point is, they are still full of emotion and it's only natural to respond by wearing their heart on their sleeve

You are way off base. These guys may seem childish to you when they are in the rear but trust me when they go out on missions it is an entirely different story.

I think that is the problem with the country we want to coddle 18-22 year olds and tell them everything will be alright. It is a joke if you ask me,you should be ready to handle life and what it throws at you once you are a legal adult.

I've never been in their shoes so I'm not going to argue. I think you've completely missed my point. They are college football players, if you expect them not to be emotional, then you don't know what college football is about. They have a right to be, is all I'm saying, so let's cut them some slack

I agree they are emotional right now I just don't think it is about the age is all. So we agree somewhat.

When you're not bullying people and playing your boom-boom music your posts are of the pretty intellectual variety. Nice work...
