We will dominate Butler. I'd be more worried about South Bama if we would have to play them.

South Bama beat nobody of note all year, turns the ball over a lot, has no clue how to force steals, and as much as they get to the line they don't even do all that well there. There's almost nothing to worry about with them.

Butler, on the other hand....

We should beat either one, of course, but Butler has a greater chance of upsetting us.

worst possible matchup for us in terms of style of play
If we can force our will, then it could be a tight game that we might lose. However, if we can't force our will over their smallish, unathletic squad, then we are seeded way too high.

This is the national championship tourney. Teams are supposed to be good. Fortunately, we are legitimately one of the best teams.

South Bama is a dang good team and it would be a home game for them.

With the exception of playing UNC in NC, I think we actually have a pretty nice seeding. Sure we got jacked by being the 8th place team, but we have IMO the easiest road to the elite 8 of the 2seeds. This bracket isnt that bad for us, and it is nearby. Oklahoma had the sun shinning on them today though.

Dickie V hates us. He just said that it's great to talk about UT and Louisville but he thinks Butler will have something to say about that. He talked about Butler beating us with the same team that they had last year but said nothing about us having Tyler and JP this year. Bilas talked about Louisville having the upperhand on Tennessee because they press and see it in practice. I think we can win without pressing the whole game and these guys talk about us like we haven't played any halfcourt ball all year. All they say is that we run and gun and shoot threes. I think we have done alot less of that in the second half of the year and have found a way to win a halfcourt game. Dickie V couldn't wait to talk negatively about us. I can't wait to see what he says about Duke. He'll probably pick them to win it all.

How are they exactly a good team?

I see losses to miss. st., miama OH, n. texas, middle tenn(lol, TWICE!), and a complete inability to cause a turnover. Hold down Bennett and you win. Let him do his thing and stiffle the other dude(telford or whatever) even marginally and you still win.

Home game or not, they are tailor-made for us to beat.

we'll probably get to the sweet 16 crossroads again this year, hopefully we'll pull through. I think Butler and South Alabama are both teams we "should" beat if we can freakin' play defense!

They took Vandy to double overtime. In Memorial.

taking a team to overtime isn't that impresive in my books. I mean maybe if they won it'd be something worth mentioning.

And that's the only decent opponent they fared well against, and still remember that we're defining 'well' as 'losing in overtime', which is a stretch.

Just look what Georgia did, and just look what Tennessee did! The Vols obviously need to "get it in gear", enough of this no-defense street ball. I am a huge fan of this team, but the last several games looked as though they have read too many of their own press clippings and highlights. DEFENSE DEFENSE DEFENSE plus ball handling at its best, like they are capable of playing, with those and their great offensive power they will win, absent any one of those then they loose. Simple.

This team is a final 4 team. No matter how great Coach Pearl is, this team has to decide how bad it wants the crown, of late it hasn't looked like a lot of desire was there.

Everyone keeps talking about how being in Birmingham is a "home game" for S. Alabama but it isn't! No one outside of mobile keeps up with them. and Mobile and Knoxville are the same distance from Birmingham. Plus who has a larger fan base, um believe that would be the Vols.
