The fact that the teams didn't play on an annual basis until 1992 has a lot to do with it.I've always been somewhat perplexed as to why the UT/UGA game isn't a bigger rivalry... neighboring states, Athens and Knoxville aren't that far away, etc... guess they both just have too many other, longer-standing rivals.
It's a big rivalry, but like you said, the problem is that we both view each other as probably the 3rd biggest game on the schedule. In fact, in the UGA hierarchy of hatred, we're probably only TIED for 3rd with Auburn behind Florida and Georgia Tech.
