As I started thinking about the UGA game coming up I could not help but realize how important this weekend is for our program and our fanbase. A few thoughts:

* The crowd will be electric like the days of old this weekend. First SEC home game and a game with a lot at stake. Add to that the fact it's a night game and this has all the makings for an atmosphere that will resemble the good ol' days.

* This game means a lot for us THIS season. A win Saturday and we are 4-1 and looking strong for a possible 8+ wins. MTSU, Vandy and UK seem to look like wins and SC is looking more beatable by the week. Plus, this would be what you would call a "signature win" for Dooley and the program for where we are right now. A win Saturday changes the mood of a lot of people who have interest in this program.

* This game means a lot for us for FUTURE seasons. This is one of our biggest recruiting weekend as far as OV's go and with the anticipated excitement surrounding this game added with a solid outing, we could have more verbals as soon as Sunday or Monday and names that would excite pretty much all on this board. This also gets the Vols in the national discussion again as a team on the rise with a win Saturday.

* Tyler Bray can be a household name after Saturday night. Sure Bray is discussed in the media and has been praised for the most part but don't you get frustrated when all of that is said and then you hear "but all of that has come against questionable competition." A big game against perceived " solid competition" and Bray can no longer be held hostage to the schedule he has played.

* Hobnail Boots can be brought back out for use again. How fitting would it be that the same venue that put Mark Richt on the map could also be the site of his final stand as head coach for the Dawgs. 10 years since that infamous game in 2001 we can be the school responsible for putting more pressure on UGA's administration than any other to this point. And to have a Dooley on the sidelines responsible for it would be even sweeter. I love the town of Athens but it might not survive i they lose this weekend.

Can't you just feel a perfect storm coming? I mean from 2008 until now we have endured much as a fanbase. Even now that we seem to have solid leadership in place with an AD and coach, we still have yet to have that defining moment that leads us to believe things are changing for the better and for the better longterm. This weekend can be that moment!

Let's all get behind our team and do our part to help make Saturday night in Neyland a night to remember in Tennessee and " the night the lights went out in Georgia" for our opponent.

GO VOLS!!!!!!!!!!

Plus Florida and Uscjr lost. We have a ton of tough games coming up but the records are reset now for the east title.

Would be a huge win but not a "signature" win since the dawgs are not even a ranked team. Beating South C, LSU, bammer. THAT would be Dooley's signature win.

No DUI's this week. Their defensive team captain and sack leader is out for two games including our game this weekend. Go Vols and yes it makes a difference.

if we beat Georgia it is not nor shall it ever be consider a signature win for Dooley. a big win yes for the team,a signature win is beating lsu the next week and or beating bama the next. lsu and bama are the only 2 chances Dooley has left to get a signature win this season.

I've been waiting on this game for a long time. I LOVE beating the dawgs when they come in Neyland's house. But the closer it gets the more nervous I am.

Maye not a signature win but it will help with momentum going into next weekend to get our signature win weekend at lsu..maybe even the most important game of the yr so we can start off this brutal schedule with a win

You hit the nail on the head OP. I yearn for the day that I can be confident again before SEC games, rather than just hopeful.

Go Vols!
