That Evan Berry, one of Eric's brothers, has already committed. He's only 13 but he's also a BEAST. Any truth to this?

That's the million dollar question. I think he just said he wants to play for UT someday.

Since it's not possible to offer 13yo's a scholly, it's not possible for him to have accepted. He may want to play here but this is a false rumor.

This is true, he has committed but doesn't have an offer from what I know. He can't receive one until his junior year, but I'm sure the coaching staff knows his recruitment will be rather easy.

So basically, he's committed, but not received a scholarsheip offer..... yet? I hope the other brother come too. That would be pretty much unstoppable. One Berry on offense and one on defense. Ohhhhhh man.

From what his father said in comments later he hasn't done anything of the sort. He apparently mentioned that he liked UT to a reporter at a track meet and that guy went bananas with it. Next thing we know ESPN is all "ZOMG KIFFIN OFFERS 13 YEAR OLD, WHAT A PUBLICITY STUNT" when in fact we never offered him.

I think Eric said that he felt one of them, can't remember which, committed when he did. Not literally, of course. The other one wasn't a lock, but a very good possibility.

He seems to think Evan will be a Vol, but considering his brothers are in 8th grade who knows what they'll do when they begin the recruiting process in a couple of years. James, their father, basically said that they can do whatever they want and he is not planning on pushing them one way or the other.

There is the link to his dad's statements.

"Reports surfaced last week that Evan Berry, the 13-year-old brother of Tennessee superstar Eric Berry, had verbally committed to Tennessee. Why a 13-year-old child would be talking to any reporter is an issue, but for now let’s set that aside.

There are a couple of facts that get in the way of this story. One fact is that you can’t commit to someone who has never offered you a scholarship. The other fact is that you can’t offer anyone a scholarship until they are registered with the NCAA Clearinghouse.

So if Tennessee has offered the kid a scholarship then the Vols have violated NCAA rules and the kid can’t commit. If Tennessee has not offered the kid a scholarship, then the kid can’t commit. Now he can SAY whatever he wants. He’s 13!!!!!!"
