I hate having Florida as our first conference game.

A loss next week and it's yet another season of praying that they lose to somebody and being bitterly disappointed when they don't. Having the season pretty much ended before it even starts is very discouraging. It's starting to make me bitter. I know I'm going to get yelled at for being so negative, but only an ignoramus is happy with a second-tier bowl and anything less than a conference championship and a shot at a National title. WHY do we have to play them so freakin' EARLY???

You are missing the point that playing them early is a gift. You certainly don't want to play them in November.... for more than one reason.

Sorta like the year the game was postponed because of the hurricane and we beat them the last game of the year to win the SEC east?

Florida likes it because their history shows they do better when they play us early in the year than when they played us near the end (2001). You gotta have two schools agreeing to move a game; while only one has to disagree to keep it the same

I understand your no-one should be happy with anything other than being number 1, but the reality this season is that this team is very much rebuilding and that's going to take some time and possibly some baby steps till it's filled with all the really good new guys again. For right now anything better than last season is a major improvement. But the rebuilding has to happen.

Don't worry; if everything goes right, we'll soon be right back up there where you want to be

Yes we did beat them that year. However you can prove anything with one example. Point being, if you lose in September it is possible to regain yourself in the polls. If you lose late in November....forget it. Nothing good can come from scheduling UF late in the season. Just ask Florida State.
