Guys, call it what you will but last night I had a dream that we beat the Gators in G'ville. If you thought the faces of the Ohio State fans looked gloomy after getting kicked in the teeth after the NC game, wait until this Saturday. If somehow we beat the Gators, imagine how the fans would react...

OK back to reality...if the Gators get up big, they won't sing rocky top, or call timeouts. My thought is that for the entire fourth quarter they will run their "Bonsai Package", where the offense races to the line of scrimmage and immediately snaps the ball. They will try to make our entire defense throw up. Think about it, it would be the equivalent of making our defense run wind sprints at the end of a hard fought game when their tank is on E.

Lastly, I wouldn't be surprised if we try some trickery on special teams. Considering who the Gators have returning the football, don't be shocked if we create something specific for this game. Think Bama 2 years ago.

Thoughts? and Go VOLS!

What comes around goes around. If Meyer tries to run the score it will come back to haunt him one day. There is nothing wrong with trying to score with the 2nd team but calling timeouts with Tebow in the game is classless.

I think we all dream about beating the Gators on a regular basis, but I think we need to be prepared for Saturday's outcome. To quote my wife.."I want to start drinking early because I feel like it's not going to be pretty." Dadburn I hope she's wrong. Come on VOLS! All I want is your very best and I will be satisfied.:good!:

i always have a dream about the game. but my problem is that i can't find my seat and i keep walking around the stadium. all i hear is cheering but no one will tell the score so i never know who is leading.

however, last night i dreamt we were down by 14 but were driving to score, but we were playing in a gymnasium with fog everywhere.

I will stay away from the drinks Sat. I will watch the game and hope for the best. The bad part will be the rain, I will not be able to go for a ride to release the stress if we get beat. I'm going to go buy a dog just for this weekend. hehe j/k about the no drinking part.

Yes. The Bonsai Package is formidable but I think it can be mastered with patience, study and a pair of tiny scissors.

I'm ready. Expecting the worst, hoping for the best.

Regardless of what happens, the future is still bright for the Vols.

I keep hearing that, but aside from leaving Utah in the lurch I keep waiting for someone to back it up.

He threatens to pull commits scholarships if they take visits to other schools. That's pretty classy. You can spin that however you want. He only wants players who are fully committed. Sure.... from my perspective he is threatening 17 year old kids and isn't looking out for their best interest. He's looking out for his. You have to live with the decision of your college choice for a minimum of 4 years. Not only that but it impacts the rest of your life following. Did you choose the right coaching staff to get you to the NFL? Did you choose the right school for academics if you don't go pro? Are you even going to get playing time and be able to show case yourself on the field? And the list goes on. Meyer threatens these kids though. Nice!

Meyer is classless and a narcissist to boot.

What did poor ol' Phil Fulmer do to deserve having the score run up on him? Nothing but his best Ned Beatty impersonation... "Squeal like a pig boy"

Just be honest. Meyer would have run the score up on Kiffin if he could even if Kiffin had kissed his rear the whole time.

Lying to the Utah program would be sufficient, but since you asked:

  • selectively choosing games for suspension of key players
  • telling Snead that he was recruiting tebow as a linebacker
  • not shaking fulmers hand
  • throwing bombs late in the 4th quarter when up by 4 TDs
  • calling timeouts in the 4th quarter when up by 4 TDs
  • fostering an environment of armed thugs in a college town

When did he do that? Link?

I would not approve of that, though I suspect that coaches often say we need to knwo where you stand because we've only got so many of these to give out.

I still don't understand why gator fans are on vol forums?? do you have absolutely nothing better to do with your time... or is it your subconscience telling us you want to be a vol?

I honestly can't remember so I'll try to find it. There were at least two I recall. Nick Saban has said the same things to kids. In Saban's case I believe it was Sims. I do know that RB Mack Brown has talked about taking a visit to Tennessee under the radar without Meyer's knowledge. He and his father both said they are afraid Meyer would pull his scholarship. That alone should tell you there is something behind Meyer making threats. That's generally not a concern when taking a visit.

The fact to the matter is if you dont think your team can win every game it plays, then you aint a real fan. I was a fan in the 98 championship season and i was still a fan last year at 5 and 7. and through it all every game i knew the vols could win.

If he leaves Tebow in if the game is out of hand that will come back to bite him. Just look at Prothro from Bama when Shula was running up the score on Florida. You know what they say about Karma

I was watching their kickoffs against Troy and they really load up the side they're kicking it to. Seems to just beg for a reverse on the return with a speed guy. I'm not a coach but what do we have to lose?

'07 - Auburn game. Having his hand on the Ref's shoulder to signal timeout just as AU kicks the field goal. Although, that did not work for him as originally planned.
