Not to listen to what CBJ says. Now I'm not saying I'm against him or that anyone else should be, actually we should all be 100% behind him, because we all want the same thing which is UT victories. However, two things have been done by CBJ and his staff which makes me leery. First, he claimed that he would hire the best staff in America, no offense to our coaches as I hope they prove me wrong, but I don't believe 80% of them resided in Cincinnati last year. Secondly, I think it hurts him and his staff by tweeting and talking about big NSD surprises. He is just setting the fan base up for disappointment. Which we have had plenty of lately. This makes me feel that he really didn't understand the situation that he is in, in terms of the fans frustrations, because getting the fans all excited for nothing is hurting him in the eyes of some. Anyways, hope he is able to back up his next statements and leads us back to the top.

I'm going to be that guy..... I don't think he's going to make it.

Sucks but that's just my opinion.

Wth do you want him to say? "We're going to hire a decent staff?" Sometimes a staff that knows how to work together is more effective than a staff full of strangers.

I bet you wanted Charlie Strong too....I guess based on his signing ranking is better than ours in your opinion...

I think coach just got a bit too confident in what he was being told by a few and wanted to lighten up the mood of the fan base. I'm sure that's a lesson he's taking notes on. Obviously you and many others are disappointed , but we haven't even seen this team in practice yet. If his system works and the players "get it" , we might be singing a different tune next winter. It could very well be, "damn, CBJ is tearing it up. I was a little skeptical, I admit, but he's the real deal" etc etc. UT needs our support and our coaches do too. They invest their lives into this stuff, regardless of their pay, it's still taxing and I'm not going to count someone out before I even see what they have in store for me.

hmmmm.....I guess Miller, Dobbs, & Brown weren't surprises at all considering 2 months ago they weren't even considering UT.

No actually I was totally against hiring Strong, actually he was the only name that was seriously mentioned that I was defiantly against. Im not against CBJ, like I originally said I hope he turns it around.

Only thing I agree with is the setting people up for disappointment. He led people on last night and everyone thought Bell, but that is our own faults. Butch had done everything right so far, just didn't get the job all The way done wrapping up. Wasn't put in a great spot and it wasn't for lack of trying...

This signing day was a great success.. Butch and the coaches did an amazing job. To bad people dont know enough about it to realize how good of a job they did.

Seriously? Based off 2 months of recruiting...not a practice, not a game? Just Dayum

Here is the thing we know so far about Butch.

1. He has shown he can win.
2. I do think he is a better coach than Dooley
3. He has shown so far that Dooley might be a better recruiter and this is just one battle for him, but all of Dooley's classes were better.
4. He lost to Dooley
5. Fulmer is still a better coach and recruiter than Butch is, does not mean in one year that I may not change my mind. Just calling it like I see it.

No this was not an amazing job. TN facilites are the best in the SEC, yeah there have been issues. On that alone at minimum you are top 15...Ole Miss has nothing like this, in fact only Bama is equal to what TN has now.

HAHAHAHAHAH

You realize that the reason Butch didn't get the big fish we were hoping was because he was battling uphill while Dooley's ineptitude kept throwing boulders down the mountain at him, right?

Vonn's dad specifically said that if Tennessee had been on him from day one he'd be here. The fact he came in the last 2 months and got us to 2nd place for Vonn is INCREDIBLE.

I'm not sure people realize how bad Dooley *****ed things up with the HS coaches here.

Facilities are a plus. I can go out and get paint cans and fill them up to create resistance. Coaches and Success are what gets recruits.

You have a lot to learn. In this one case that may be true, but Dooley being the terrible coach he was had three better classes, again that could be a straight fluke...do you really thinking coming in second is incredible for one 5 star...raise your expectations. Let me take you back 10 years and imagine what we would have said about Fulmer if this happen. If Butch can tap into what Fulmer had, he will win, if not he will be an upset here or there coach. 9 wins here or there.

Here is the question I am going to ask when most of this board supported Dooley and they went crazy about how Dooley has no talent. Will this coach get you where you want to be? I say maybe, for Dooley no way. This battle lost on some recruits was a little surprising and I am not talking about Von Bell alone.

We have a coach and we have had plenty of success. I said at minimum top 15, the rest is what you said.

Hugh Freeze and Gus Malzahn not a lot of success in fact I will say less than Butch.

We came in 2nd for 2 5 Stars, first of all. Dooley's first class was 90 percent Kiffin, and the statistics back that up. If by "What Fulmer Had," you mean a great coaching staff to coach any kid they brought in, then yes, you're right. It's nice to have a good recruiting class to coach up, but if you're good coaches, you can usually overcome some size or talent shortcoming with coaching.

Losing any of the battles we had recently joined in on late shouldn't have come as a surprise. It should be a testament that he won some of the battles he did, not a crucifixion for the ones he lost. I'm not saying that these are "acceptable" in a full year, but for 2 months, he's exceeded my expectations. With the staff he brought, which, I'll be honest, underwhelmed me, I'm REALLY impressed how quickly they got out there, got going, and started making an impact instantly. It takes some coaches years to establish the roots that Butch seems to have made in 2 months.

It's moronic to have "expected" a 5 star to come, commit 3 or 4 years of his life to a coach he's never seen coach big time.

I have said this in every thread I've commented in, looking at the way they recruited, if they give an inkling that they can win and coach, next year's class will be unbearably boomtastic. Think Ole Miss without all the bagmen.
