Can't really disagree, not sure when it will happen but something has to give. The team doesn't seem to be working well together and everyone on the team seems to be waiting for this to happen.

it's going to take a herculean effort to even sniff the Chase at this point.

3 more races like he's had so far this year, and his season is done. might as well let them ride it out to the end of the year.

They have to shake things up.

Heard Hendrick on the radio and he wouldn't say Eury was safe. He just said they are looking at things to get better. Tony, I think you may be on to something. I think he is gone soon.

Why not get rid of the whole team. Dale Jr is the most over rated driver in NASCAR for someone of his caliber. Did I say that right. Jr is a 2nd tier driver. Tony Eury will before the Daytona race in July. If he's not I'll be surprised.

I think you'll see Eury moved to some other position as opposed to being fired. That is more like Hendrick.

Maybe sooner that 3 races.

CONCORD, N.C. -- Team owner Rick Hendrick, who has previously said he doesn't plan to make changes to Dale Earnhardt Jr.'s team, wasn't as definitive on Tuesday.

"Could it change?" Hendrick said following a meeting with NASCAR officials at the Research and Development Center. "We're talking about things. We're going to make decisions as the days go by, but we haven't made any decisions as it stands now."

Jayski: # More rumors on #88 crew chief change UPDATE: a reliable source tells me [Sports Illustrated] that Tony Eury Jr. won't be the crew chief of the #88-Dale Earnhardt Jr. as of Dover this weekend. Whether that actually happens or not remains to be seen, but the two weeks in Charlotte made it obvious both driver and team need a change.(Sports Illustrated)(5-26-2009)

They just said on the radio that he was fired. Not sure if that is after this weekend or as of now......

i'm sure money is not a problem what so ever. i just think Jr needs a cc that give him a kick in the butt

maybe, but in 3 mores races it's not going to matter if Mr. Felon puts the whole team in a paint shaker.

I believe his name is Rick Hendrick. I know you hate it that Penske can't come close to the amount of success that Rick Hendrick has had in Sprint Cup but there is no need for the name calling. I could call Kurt Busch Mr. Wreckless Driving or what probably should have been Mr. DUI but I see no reason to go there. I can see why you would want to be a part time Kyle Busch fan since the Penske guys give you nothing to talk smack about.

sorry, but he was never convicted, so you can't "probably should have" call him that. Hendrick on the other hand is a convicted felon, and you know what they say...'if the shoe fits, wear it.'

and trust me, after the way he acted toward the officer, had he really been drunk they would have thrown the book at him, so that's really why you have no reason to go there.

also, in terms of success as a car owner and a business man: Penske > Hendrick, and it's not really even close.

Michael Waltrip is probably a better business man than 99 percent of the drivers on the track but it doesn't mean he is the best driver out there. I could care less how many Penske rental trucks are roaming the interstate or how many people bought a car at a Penske dealer. I could care less if Penske owns Saturn one day. He obviously hasn't figured out how to match the success of Rick Hendrick in cup racing. He might flex some muscle in open wheel but who cares? Who is his competition, Ganassi? Seriously, if Hendrick or Roush wanted to they would own him in open wheel too but like the rest of us they could care less about that series. There is a reason guys like Hornish seem to lose half their talent once a car has fenders on it and there is a reason why many of the open wheel drivers want to come to Nascar......because it is more competitive and more poeple care about it.

yeah, the money has nothing to do with it. it's all about people who care and competition. forget the paycheck.

Rick Hendrick doesn't come anywhere close to Roger Penske as far as being businessmen. Success in NASCAR or Indy Cars is no measure for business acumen. Penske sits on more Board of Directors than Hendrick has dealerships.

BTW I follow the IRL quite closely, and the racing is usually more entertaining than NASCAR as far as close finishes. NASCAR is more competitive overall.
