Here is most people on this sites opinions of our players and coach:
Coach Pearl- good ambassador for the university but cant coach offense or defense.
B Maze- non-SEC quality PG
S.Hopson- new nickname softson or flopson
JP Prince- Waste of a basketball player and the dumbest basketball player ever.
K Hall- decent will be good eventually
W Chism- good but not NBA quality, needs to stay down low more and quit taking stupid shots.
M Goins- decent back up but not starting material
S Mcbee- should not see the court, or nicknamed Mcbrick
B Williams- Soft, bad hands, lazy, waste of scholarship.
R Woolridge-soft, waste of scholarship, swipersuck
C Tatum- decent but disappears too much
S Pearl- only plays bc of his last name

Is it not amazing that we are in the top 20 out of over 300 division one basketball teams with the way our fans view our coach and players?

Those quotes certainly don't represent the majority view. Some of them represent the just plain wrong view.

This is so true!!! Right when I get discouraged at these boards by just reading stuff that makes me realize why our fanbase is butt end of jokes by ESPN or whoever... I read something smart like this. Thanks!

I was being a little bit sarcastic about everyone feeling this way but I have read all of these things said numerous times about our coaches and players. Including the Swipersuck and Softson threads which were done today.

I have read many times how the flex offense is a bad offense and last year I read several that said we needed to hire an assistant coach to handle the defense.

I don't know how anyone can look at the halfcourt offense this year or any other and not see some glaring problems.

Anybody that can't see that deficiency lacks the basketball knowledge to even have an opinion on the subject.

I think the OP may have embellished a little, but I've seen those same opinions multiple times on this board too. That said, those are not the opinions of all us, and certainly not me. Most people who seem to complain about the Basketball team on here let their emotions get the best of them, and they let a few plays here or there dictate their entire opinion of the player/coach... i say go vols

Great thread, very accurate to how stupid our fans really are........trashing our own players all the time, they should feel ashamed of themselves.....

know better than that. VN has about 30,000 members. There's going to be a few dozen or so who post in that manner.

I find it amazing that you piecemeal the "unfavoring" opinions of every player on the team and post them as if every person here thinks out entire team is terrible.

If you really think that Hopson and Woolridge aren't deserving of a lot of the criticism that they receive then you're crazy. Swiperboy was right where he belongs yesterday. I personally don't have many major complaints about the rest of the team, but those two are very frustrating. There seems to be a real lack of effort on Hopson's part and Woolridge is convinced that he's a sharp-shooting guard.

This is a pretty accurate OP, despite the protests. Some on here think their "basketball IQ" is off the charts, but Pearls the players have none.
