Football program. UT has conducted 3 coaching searches in my lifetime. I've been more excited than some candidates than others but always given the eventual hire the benefit of the doubt. I don't think I could support Schiano no matter what he won. Guilty or not at Penn State the guy is a well documented a hole. I feel like hiring him would not only represent a mistake on Curries part but a failure by our boosters and University leadership to approve it. I was so excited about taking my daughter to her first game at Neyland next year and I never imagined there would be a time that I wouldn't be excited about the approach of fall. But I'm not sure I could live with such a bad decision this time. I'm sure some will be quick to say that I won't be missed and this will probably end up merged. But damn it felt good to write it. I don't think Davenport will allow him to be hired. She's hands-off, as long as her associates work within her vision. And have the character that she wants. That's the only way she'll step in.
