Whats the deal with everyone doubting UT all the sudden...? I dont understand how some people sit back and say things like we cant win the national title. I honestly believe we can beat anyone in the country and were supposed to be fans not analyst. Why cant some of you just be behind us and not think anything else instead of reading into everything. None of us are experts no matter what you think about yourself so why not believe in the team!!!

Might be the whole Clausen v. Ainge argument. Seemed to divide the fanbase.

Just shaddup and root for your team

I know for myself and wont speak on Beltways behalf, Are 2 that really believed Rick would start saturday.
Rick won me over late last season, Now i still say it was a bonehead move to sling that INT for a TD against ND.
But going into a game after sitting 8 1/2 games deserves maybe a little slack.

Personally i think it would benefit Ainge to come off the bench against UAB after a few series. But thats where my opinion and the staffs differ.

Im not a homer agreeing to everything, I now realize why Ainge was chose to start.
It isnt so much for his mobility nor his cannon.(would find it hard to believe CPF is looking for 3 deep balls for 21 points that early)

They need to see where his head is now a year older, after he has stuffed mentally everything dished out to him. Can he calm and regroup himself and the offense? What about a hit, would that shake him?

Its a formal evaluation for both Eric and Rick IMO, Two weeks later the starter will be named for UF.

This does not make me second guess why im a VOL's fan. The majority here knows it takes more than a special team to win NC's.

We may have the better part of the equation in hand, The rest is yet to be played out. :superman:

If the Secondary is in question?

Since this seems to raise more questions than else. Most know if our D-line is feeling playful 5-8 chances are your deep ball wont be as planned.

I think this group of DB's lead by Allen, only improve and continue to battle for position thru out the season.

I'm not quite sure I understand what spawned this thread.

Of course we are all UT fans. Of course we are pulling for them. of course we are praying for a national championship!

But would you have this turn into another Florida board full of homers and homer posts-- posts full of blind optomism, ignoring any potential problem, crowning the title in August?

If we become that, we become almost as big a joke as the florida nation. Allow the exchange of ideas, and allow those fans who wish to to play anylist.

Again, do you want this to be a joke board full of blind fools?

I believe there is something that we have probably not thought about in the Clausen Vs. Ainge argument.

Our staff has watched both of these kids against OUR first team defense.

OUR DEFENSE!

I can't ever remember Fulmer bragging on a team like he has this one.

They've watched our offense with Ainge and Clausen both under center and they've watched them go against what is likely the quickest and possibly the best defense in the nation, and the offense has gone down field on that great defense.

I believe the coaches came to a conclusion that if Ainge can go long against our defense then he won't have a problem doing it against any defense in the nation.

If his reaction time is ample to see receivers with our front seven on his butt, then he will see them with FL, LSU, and GA's front seven chasing him.

Yes, even the coaches say Clausen can see the field a little better, but if both can see the field against such a great D as we have, then Erik adds the advantage of stretching that great defense a little farther than Rick.

Again, I was pulling for Rick. I guess I always knew it would be Erik though.

I think it is because of your difficult schedule. Going to be very tough, no matter how good you are objectively speaking, to run that gauntlet without a loss somewhere.

But, the further down the road you get, the better the chances. Start with UAB...

USC lost a lot of the coaching staff
Texas has no passing game and inexperienced RB's
LSU's backfield is starting to come apart
Oklahoma has a one-dimensional offense
Michigan's defense is questionable
Ohio State's offense has been less than impressive
Iowa has no running game
Miami needs some work on offense
Tennessee's schedule is tough and backfield still needs improvement

The list goes on. Every team in the country has questions, from USC all the way down.
