Last week, the Vols (4-5) took their first step (albeit a very small one) toward helping Dooley keep his job by beating Troy 55-48. Their upcoming schedule involves home games against Missouri and Kentucky, with a road trip to Vanderbilt in between. The combined record of those three teams is 10-17.
I will call for the Vols to take advantage of a Missouri team traveling back-to-back weeks while playing with a hobbled quarterback, then finish their season off with two more wins. At 7-5, I think Tennessee would get to a decent bowl, possibly playing a subpar opponent from the ACC, and if that happens I don't think Tennessee will (or should) fire Dooley and go through yet another change.
