ESPN says the UT/Memphis game was their number one regular season game of all time. Can't say anything bad about that.

So I was wrong.

That's one ...

Well UNC and DUKE would have killed the ratings in the past. I have been trying to tell everyone in previous posts that the Duke UNC game is blacked out on ESPN in most of ACC country and picked up by Raycom including Raleigh/Durham and Chapel Hill.

The UT Memphis game was a non-conference match and would not be subject to blackout or picked up by the local affiliate. The ratings really do not give an accurate account of viewers.

Man... when I read the thread title, I thought this was going to be the concession on the 'flash in the pan' Gator program.

Go ahead LG. Admit it. Football is all there is to talk about at UF.:dance2:

mba, I wouldn't go that far. We may not make the tourney this year, or we may just be first round fodder for someone. But the Gators will have some success next year, I think.

Thanks for the cred, LG. I knew it was in there somewhere.

We all knew you were in denial, anyway.

It only took you 3 days to figure out what the rest of us knew Saturday night.

Not bad for a UF fan.

Fair enough. We'll wait and see. In fact, you have earned the right to wait a few years before acknowledging this fate. When you realize this fate, just remember where you heard it first... from an unbiased, anonymous spectator on the best sports board on the planet.:)

BRG...you are missing the point...LG said last week that no one outside the state of Tennessee cared about this game..LG said he was wrong....This was a huge game across the country!

Absolutely correct... and the Vols are playing the best basketball in the country.

While we're 'manning up,' I was wrong and surprised too by the ratings. Pearl has the Vols on center stage in what is the mounting excitement of college basketball.

The key now is to not peak too soon, IMHO.

Oh I think that people who follow basketball across the nation had their tv on this game. I wont disagree with that.
My point was the ratings - People are comparing this to the Duke UNC game how this was higher than any Duke UNC game. Well Most of the USA is watching it on ESPN the ACC country has to watch it on the local affiliate Raycom.

I love the smack from a Memphis fan.

Newsflash: We just walked into your house, a place you hadn't lost in 47 games and ripped perfection from your hands.

Great point. Most BB fans will chalk the Vandy loss up to an expectable emotional letdown following the historic victory in Memphis.

The Vols will rebound just fine. Memphis will continue to beat teams that really don't matter anyway finishing their less than perfect season for which the balance of the basketball world thanks UT.
