but if losing to CanTurkey guarantees Butch is out the door come Monday then so be it. I didn't watch the game last week and I'm debating on watching today. I can't believe I'd ever get this apathetic to my beloved Vols. Just seeing and hearing Butch disgusts me and makes my blood boil. I want the nightmare that is the Butch era to END so I can go back to looking forward to games again.

Damn you Currie for making me feel this way.

I can never cheer for Kentucky And will not use the word hate. But all of that changes if they screw this up tonight and we have to suffer another week. I will just add this to the list.

Butch is gone regardless of the outcome.

We should pull for the players because they deserve our full support.

It’s not their fault they have to play for an awful coaching staff.

Going to a game = A Vote to keep Butch.

Right......

Or it could be a signal to the 85 players on the team that see their fans don't care about them. Or to the 100's of potential recruits. Or the coaches out there considering the job.....

Hang in there.

Don't blame anyone but yourself.

You care enough that you have to pretend to not care at all.

It is what it is.

I can't see him being here next year. From what I've read here, his buy our drops by $3mil come Dec.

I don't care for letting a coach go mid season. So I can wait til Dec.

A splash hire saves signing day.

I hope we win out.

Go Vols!

Beat Ky!

Many feel this way and just won't admit it. Personally, I'm torn. If I knew 100% that Butch was gone regardless of the outcome, I would be all in for the Vols to win for the players sake. However, there's enough noise out there about Butch finishing the season or possibly being retained to make me a little uneasy.

How can a true fan ever wish for a loss no matter the outcome. This blows my mind . 37 years of being a Vol fan and a loss still hurts me bad

A loss ends the misery. I equate it to someone on life support with brain damage. The ethical thing to do is end the pain sooner rather than later

Think seriously if one of the guys on the team is your brother, your son, or your grandson playing against Kentucky.

Lol no. They invented Twitter for a reason. A ticket bought is a vote that you support the crap Butch is putting on the field. It's basic economics. Why change when you make a lot of money.

The Players, Recruits, or other coaches won't care about 20-30k not showing up within 2-6 months.

We can't assume Butch is gone no matter what. If we win out he will likely be back next year. Then several more years of 8 and 4s or 7 and 5s are likely. Currie has not done anything yet to signify he's gone no matter what. In fact, opposite is true. He's still coaching.

100% agree ... how can someone that calls themselves a fan hope their team loses, no matter the reason?

I will never ever hope the Vols lose. Never ever ever.

While I can never myself want a loss, I still feel your pain. I understand where u are coming from and hold no ills about it.

I think he is saying, as much as he loves the vols and as much pain it is to hope for a loss....... He is ready to "hope it" if that could bring change.

Going to a game = A Vote to keep Butch.

Not so fast.

Many of us have to plan way in advance to get to go to games.

Going to game = I only get to go to a few games anyway. I've always had a good time going to the games. When we win it is so much better than when we lose. I have been able to separate the disgust of a loss from the joy of time spent going to a game.

I go to a game knowing we can win and knowing we can lose(Except for Ky, we show out.).

I've seen our underdog team win in dramatic fashion. I've seen us lose to teams due to our mistakes.

They don't call it "The agony of defeat.", for no reason.

Ky better brig their A game if they want to win. If they play like Ky, we can beat them even if we pay down to their level.

Go Vols!

Yes it is. Spending money on a product means that you think the product is good. It's simple business skills that if you keep filling up the venue, the entertainer is acceptable.

You're better off putting your money into an index to buy tickets next year.

So be it (symbol for not equal to) hoping for a loss.

Those hoping for a loss are wasting their hope. If you want us to lose go to the game and heckle 121. Wear a bag over your head, hold up hateful signs, do stuff to rattle and distract them.

You know, root against them. Nah. Go root for them. If they win they win. If they lose they lose.

Go Vols!

Can't say I'm hoping for a loss, but all things considered the loss to Kentucky won't be quite as much of a bummer if it means that snake-oil selling coach of ours is sent packing.

I liken the situation to a root canal. They're unpleasant, but necessary. Hopefully the dentist (AD/admin) will remove the problem (Lyle Jones) sooner than later.

Its not, its dollars to the AD and thats what speaks. Those kids don't care, look at how they play.
