one big difference from last season is that our offense has not stumbled. last year, once we hit SEC play our offense immediately stalled. in the first 4 SEC games we scored no more than 25 points and we barely cracked 30 points against SEC opponents the whole season.

This year we haven't scored less than 40, even against one of the top teams in the nation. I expect 40 will be no problem playing at home against this Arkansas defense.

it's amazing what one QB leader can do for Heupel's offense.

The first quarter against UGA was an absolute clinic for offense. It's a shame we lost the game but especially so because it overshadowed what an amazing quarter of football it was.

It is not just having a better QB for our system. Heupel and Halze have completely overhauled our offensive scheme. If you compare our offense to 21 and 22, it looks completely different. It is much harder for defensive coordinators to prepare for us as we are running a ton of different concepts compared to previous years. Pro style, condensed, 12 man, spread, all with pace. We have zone and man beaters ready for Joey and the WRs to use quickly.

The only thing I want to see is a more consistent run game.

I want to see good run defense.

I think that had less to do with the schedule and more to do with the fact that we didn't have an SEC qb last year.

Yes, Aguilar has made the offense go. Which is why I believe tomorrow is all about the defense. Force AR to punt or turn over on downs a few more times than we do. Sounds obvious, but I don't want a shootout. Petrino will likely use all 4 downs unless deep on their side.
I expect the punter for ARKY to stay in Fayetteville.

Oh sure, that's great. That's like saying Bubba Bailey is up to bat and he hasn't struck out in 3 years.

Heup knows the strength of the team and adjusts scheme and game plan accordingly. Last year defense was the strength. We slowed down the offense, ran the ball with Sampson effectively. This year we gotta score points. So we go fast. And it helps we have a qb who looks like he’s played in this offense 3 years already.

I don't believe Halze came up with this on his own. Give credit to Landry Jones and Chaney.

We're not playing quite as fast as we were a couple of years ago ether. I think that is designed to take a little pressure off the defense.

Some people don't realize the magnitude of that Loss. The losing streak continues, and when will UT have as good a chance at stopping it? Uga isn't as good this year. So we have to keep looking at that L in the record books. Sticks in my craw. Dammit. Snatched defeat from the jaws of victory.

The notion that last year Heupel decided "Oh, well our defense is good, no need to sweat the whole 'scoring' aspect of the game. Who needs points?" is really silly.

Our offense was simply not very good last year. Our run game was excellent. Passing game abysmal. It's pretty easy to see that the offense has undergone a significant overhaul. Kelsey Pope has said publicly that after the Ohio State game they knew some things had to change. The offense isn't a switch that Heupel decided to turn off last year and turn back on this year.

Yep, that one gets worse with age. Inexcusable to lose that one after playing so well for much of the game at home. If there's such thing as a "signature loss" that's one that leaves a mark.

Doesn't bother me. Our future is still completely within our control.
