To heck with it, if he comes he comes. I am not going to think about it anymore. If he doesn't come throw the big money that was going towards Gruden at one of these and I will be happy! There are other great coaches out here other than Gruden!

Gary Patterson

Chris Petersen

David Shaw

Anyone other than those 4 and I might be really disappointed. Especially with all the money that is being talked about we should be able to get a great coach even if it is not Gruden.

I was with you until I saw your list. Fisher needs to be at the top:

Fisher
Patterson
Shaw

Imo, Patterson should be #1 on that list. Followed by, Fedora, Shaw, Briles.

Petersen is not a real possibility.

I like Patterson as he's a Def of mind and has shown what he can do. Now....that's a pipe dream cause he's making 3.4 in FTW and that's a ton. If he weren't in the big 12 then I'd say yes we have a shot but I don't think we do now. I don't think anyone does. I'd even say if UTex opened up he'd be talked to immediately and those chances are small. UTex coach has to be a grade A politician too. Also TCU boosters will throw a ton of money at him too. Don't want to hear ours will out bid cause oil money is flowing out the wazoo in FTW.

Still would like to see what Shaw can do once the Harbough effect is completely gone. I'm weary of jumping on those trains. I know many on here don't see it that way but to each there own. Same with Sumlin at the Aggies, muschump, heck even Meyer if he stays long enough at osu. Ha!

Peterson would be the next best guy after Patterson IMO that combines home-run and solid track record. He fell off the media darling train this yr so he needs to decide if it's time to grab the money now while he's still on the peak cause he's coming down IMO. Not cause he isn't good just hard to keep it up in the media when you lose a game there. Especially early. I'd think we can get him at a good price and perhaps with a bonus structured contract that bumps him well as he goes along and does his thing.

Briles is probably my 3rd. He's done well where ever he's gone over the last decade or so and is a rebuilder. Rebuilt Houston and left a solid program for Sumlin to take over and succeed. His TX contacts are great especially cause I'm sure it's going to take time to really succesfully get into places in our area. Being UTs coach gets u far but it has it's limits too. So his assts hires will be crucial. My concern would be who he brings as DC and if can bring in someone that can do it now. Also his "home-run" hire effect is minimal. All talk was around RGIII last yr and not much media talk on briles, so im sure the regular fan is going to have to look him up if hired. Maybe even some recruits.

Biggest thing against us right now is impatience and coaches are reallly considering that I'm sure. Don't be surprised if we see another high buyout schedule this time around too. I'm sure Hart has his hands tied in this part of the contract and just will have to swallow it to get someone to uproot from a good situation.

All just IMHO that's all...

I omitted in my last post stoops cause of that he already came out and said and i with Gundy too but he has stated the same as staying put. Just going on what is left. Petersen has as well but due to his child. Smthng could hopefully be done there with as much effort that we gave Gruden i think.

We need to generate buzz IMMEDIATELY. Can those guys coach? Yes. Can they recruit in the SEC? Yet to be proven. What makes me so mad is that Gruden's name alone would have brought in great recruits, something that has been severely lacking for a few years now. Florida, Alabama, LSU,Georgia, South Carolina, and Texas A&M are all way ahead of us for the next few seasons anyways, so unless we get a GREAT hire, we're screwed. Again. Being a Vol fan hasn't been fun in years... I'm sadly succumbing to the idea that this program isn't nearly as good as we believe it is.
