Hyams, during his Mr. SEC spot on 104.5 the Zone this morning, just said that a major booster told him Fulmer has to beat either UGA or Bama or he is gone for sure.

I can't imagine what is happening on the inside, but this really is turning into a sad situation. The Vols are terribly boring to watch, they have been playing the wrong QB since spring, and every week there is a grocery list of things Phil must do to keep his job.

Combine all of those factors, and I think the end rapidly approaches.

Sorry folks, Phil's not going anywhere.

No need to apologize. I can't imagine why he would want to stay. If my boss came to me every Monday and told me what I needed to do to keep my job I think I would find another....or retire if I was financially ready to do so.

I understand a lot of people like to say "he's gone or give up, he's not going anywhere" just to raise the ire of the crowd they address.

Truthfully no one knows what going to happen, but the situation seems to get a more volatile with each passing game.

well if Hyams is right in 19 days, all the speculation and rumors will be put to bed or played out

the bad thing about that is, they are saying that he has to beat one of the major players in the SEC to retain his job. is it just me or is that pathetic

Fulmer will upset bama, uga or vandy and keep his job---his $5 mil buyout is too much coin for UT to put up right now.

The team is bad whether we beat georgia or bama. It shows no sign of improvement from week to week. Its stale and boring to watch. Our boosters have some very low standards. I mean if by some miracle we do beat one of those teams, were not instantly going to look like a better team. We have some deep rooted problems that go all the way to the top. I would want to clean that up if i were pouring money into the program. Phil just needs to check his ego at the door and do whats right for tennessee not him.

if he stays, do you think boosters will pull money from the program? do you think fans would go to the games? i think everyone is pretty fed up with everything that's going on

If they truely are giving him ultimatums at this point then they truely are homers. They should be looking for our next coach right now. No matter how the rest of this year goes.

We barely put 13 pts on NIU. You think we are gonna beat UGA or Bama. Have you watched UT play. I try to be optimistic but reality is it's not gonna happen. Our offense is horrible.

Bottom Line is if he stays and wins next year...1 or 2 loses, the fan base will be back on the bandwagon. If he goes then we risk the possibility of becoming Alabama and enduring 12 years of trying to find a coach thats the right fit...The future doesn't look good.

I'm just afraid he's going to beat one of those teams and everyone is going to get excited and say, "Well his back was against the wall in 2008 against Alabama look what he did."

I can't take another year of the same old crappy football. I don't feel secure going into 09' on one of Phil's famous "same my ass" games.

Thing is, every game should be a save his a$$ game. Why does it take fan outcry for the man to do his job?
