I'll post updates on this thread in regards to the landfall and impacts on the coast and inland outside of TN. For updates on this storm for folks in TN, I'll be posting them in the East Tennessee Weather thread.

One thing I'll say right now is that I think its safe to disregard the recent GFS model runs . It is acting all sorts of crazy.

Last I read, it said it could hit anywhere from Georgia, to up to Virginia. Most likely the Carolina's though.

Here's a good composite I found of all the models. European models(orange) are showing a more westward track than the others.

I live in Charlotte. We are about to get hit by 100mph plus winds again like Hugo did 30 years ago. I was 11 yo then..

I'm a weather enthusiast. I would love to be a meteorologist someday.
I've been interested in hurricanes and tropical weather since I was about 7- I had a chart I'd map hurricanes on for fun during the summer.

Now I'm more interested in learning some of the science. Is there a resource (a book or online course would be nice) you'd recommend?

The following is a good website to learn more about the science of meteorology. It has a good bit of courses and lessons.

Update:

The latest Euro run narrows the heaviest rainfall to the Carolinas, while Virginia and other surrounding states dont see as much. Still a lot of time to go, so this can still change.

Wxrisk is a good one to follow too. Believe he's out of Richmond and really follows weather that will affect VA
