Hurd and Dobbs

Don't think Hurd or Dobbs either one quit on us tonite. I think Hurd is hurt and Dobbs had a really bad game, it happens.

Well remember 2013 - the win over # 11 SC ? Their fans were most likely acting like Vols fans tonight -- Oh, we lost to a crappy Tennessee team blah blah blah (and they did) -- I guess just move on like they did that year

Something is definitely up with Hurd's health.

UT confirmed it during the game iirc. As for Dobbs...just normal stuff rearing it's ugly head. He's a good, not great QB. But this was one of the ugliest games ever for him regardless.

I think the massive amount of punishment Hurd has taken at Tennessee is catching up to him. I cannot blame him. Imagine getting blasted as many times as he has. I do not believe he has mailed it in and given up. IF, he has, then he needs to be benched permanently.

I think Dobbs is in the same situation. The only real thing he has known at Tennessee is operating under constant pressure. He also has never had an effective QB coach and OC. I am not making excuses for him. Just saying I believe all the hits and pressures Dobbs has been under may be finally getting to him.

SC was prepared for the DT QB this time --- remember Muschump commenting earlier in the week about the trouble they have with DT QBs

Real vol fans know that Dobbs and Hurd give all they have for this team. Dobbs had a bad game and Hurd is injured. It happens, so grow up and stop wining. If your going to label someone a pu$sy, do it face to face.

Hurd and Dobbs are the last two that should be questioned with regards to their commitment.

This staff drawing 6 figures is a different story however.

Maybe hurd is beaten up from.the pathetic ass blocking he has gotten for his 3 years here. Who in the heck wouldn't be. Blame the coaches all you want but don't blame a kid who has put his all into this team for 3 seasons. He's a huge reason for our come up. I think he will blow up in the NFL in a pro style offense. It's not his fault our scheme sucks and doesn't match his skill set. If butch wants to stay he better bring in better assistants if he doesn't want to do that fire his ass

Has Hurd checked out? He looks completely uninterested and was better as a freshman. Same for Dobbs. He has regressed to a below average QB.

It's almost as if they have been reading all the things Volnation has been saying about them in these forums.

Dobbs is a pathetically awful passer. Give him all the time in the world in the pocket and it won't matter. He simple doesn't have the ability to read and react and his accuracy is downright horrific.

wow...that quick we turn on our own....man I hope no recruits see this, and if they do please know not all Vol fans are insulting like this.

Nobody is basing 4 years of their life based on what a host of dumbasses say on a message board.

He's a horrible QB. He's a good football player. When the opposing coach says "we have to make him play QB", you know you're screwed.

There is lots of blame to pass around the coaching staff but most of it rests with Jones... heavy is the head that wears the crown.

But on the field... Top tier college football teams dominate the line of scrimmage regardless of what system they run. In my opinion the lack of development on the line has stunted the growth of the offense as a whole and of individual players.

As talented as JG is, The same thing that has happened to Dobbs will happen to JG if he is running for his life the second the ball is snapped.

You may be right. For someone as smart as Dobbs he still leaves me perplexed with most of his decision making.

I have been told by someone that has classes with him that at best he is an average engineer. Don't let the aerospace moniker fool you. Basically Aerospace = Mechanical = Biomed at UT. It's all hard and requires study to make the cut but it doesn't require a 140 IQ either.

Hurd is obviously hurt and doesn't want it discussed publicly. At least he's trying. Dobbs is doing his best with very little pocket protection.
Well Dobbs best wasn't good enough .he was not under pressure on the lady int. And poor passing can't all be blamed on the line.
Every other position on the team if you don't perform you get took out and somebody else gets a shot, but looks like at iUT you can stink it up as many series or games you want and the QB job is yours once you have been named starter

LOL. Engineering is one of the most difficult degrees a person can get. Not all engineering majors are the same.

If Hurd is planning on declaring for the draft this year, then the rest of the season should be fun to watch because he is going to have to look like Hershel walker to bring back scouting confidence
