With Hugh Freeze being mentioned as a possible OC, I chose to do a little bit of research to see how his productivity stacked up as a play caller during his 2012-2016 tenure.
Some disclaimers:
1) Only looked at points per game in SEC games. And only during Hugh Freeze's time in the league (2012-2016). So Spurrier's entire resume isn't considered, for example.
2) Did not remove defensive and special teams touchdowns from scoring averages. For some very good defensive teams like Alabama, that might skew points per game by a few points. This is just a thumbnail cursory look.
3) Teams obviously don't play identical schedules. While SEC West teams were scoring more points typically, they might also have had the better defenses on average (though Florida, Vandy, Georgia, and SC had some stingy units in this time period). So, don't know how the defenses stacked up East vs West.
4) I counted Dan Mullen, Hugh Freeze, Steve Spurrier, and Gus Malzahn as Offensive coordinators because they called the plays.

Scoring points per game in SEC games 2012-2016:

Alabama: 35.8 (36.1 counting SECCGs)
Texas A&M: 31.4
Georgia: 30.5 (Bobo was 36.3/ 35.9 counting SECCG)
Tennessee: 28.3 (Butch’s offenses were 27.7/ Chaney 30.8)
Ole Miss: 27.5
MSU: 27.4
SC: 26.0 (Spurrier was 29.6)
Auburn: 25.8 (Malzahn was 29.7/ 30.5 counting SECCG)
LSU: 25.5
Fla: 23.8 (23.4 counting SECCGs)
Ark: 23.7
Mizzou: 22.6 (22.8 counting SECCGs)
Vandy: 19.0
Ky: 17.9

I was a little bit surprised that Freeze wasn't higher on the list. I guess I remembered those two wins over Bama and just remembered them being lights-out explosive.
