How would former coaches do with

How do you, other VN'ers, think our former head coaches, dating back to Fulmer, would do with this exact same team this upcoming season?

Fulmer- Six wins
Kiffin- Seven wins
Dooley- Four, maybe five wins

Wtf?? So you basically started a bogus thread so you could hate on Phil Fulmer. Unreal. I'll make sure not to return to this ish thread.

By evidence of the trophy case he made additions to.

I agreed with him being fired. That doesn't change the facts. I'm not sure why some feel that needs to be brought up.

The talent level around the sec had a lot to do with those additions to the trophy case.
Fulmer did a lot of great things for UT, but those last years were awful. I don't think it's a coincidence that the talent level around the league was increasing as we were becoming less competitive. Explain it however you want to.

You can take all 3 of them and stuff them where the sun don't shine. Shoney's, Sanctions, and Shower discipline/War Stories. Past is the past, leave it there. None of the three would have recruited this lineup.

True. Coaches recruit based on players fitting their style.

I doubt those three would have recruited Dobbs either.

There's nothing to explain.

He took UT to the pinnacle and was competitive around that pinnacle for several other years. Only to have a hand in taking it down.

The goobers that gloss over the good to only focus on the end are goobers.
He is a major reason UT had to start over. He's also the last cat to win the division, conference, and NC.

I'm not sure why some can't see both. It doesn't make you a bad person. Just coherent.

One that you chose to have a take on.

Maybe it's not as useless as you lead on.

You hope by saying so that those who bring it up will repent of their evil ways. So yeah, it is a useless as I lead on and now ignore the thread.

You know, this post is the best post I've ever read on here! It epotomizes the exact and correct manner of what happened, what it was and how it happened and why.

Spot on Beacher!

Reminds me of an old Roger Miller tune.

It had almost everything to do with it.

Fulmer took over a much better situation roster wise than Jones did.

He competed in the SEC when the only consistent power was Florida, who he routinely lost to.

I give credit to Fulmer for his wins but I don't have amnesia. I remember those years and thinking, how can Fulmer beat the garbage guys but never win a big one? Well he did finally win the big one and had an undefeated season. Mostly downhill from there though.

When the talent level and competition started to rise Fulmer tanked.

That's why Lane Kiffin had a team with no center and walk on Tackles despite taking over for a coach who's supposed forte was the offensive line.

I thought Kiffin did good that year. Still though, he should have beaten UCLA and won the bowl game.

Beating NW that year and Ohio State the next made me feel we were elite. The no show against Nebraska brought me to reality. The dismal failure of the 99 season when we should have repeated proved '98 was based on luck and (breaks).

In what damn universe is a BCS bowl a dismal failure?
